Thread: Resident Evil 3 & 4

  1. Resident Evil 3 & 4

    From DreadCentral.com:

Here comes the inevitable with an extra splash of surprise. You didn't need to see Resident Evil: Apocalypse to know that Paul W.S. Anderson was paving the way for a third film. But a fourth? Hmm, that's interesting.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting begins on Resident Evil: Afterlife this fall and finds Milla Jovovich in a world overrun with the undead. Principal photography will take place in Australia, it's barren locations supposedly serving as the Nevada desert where most of the sequel's action will take place. Anderson is wrapping up scripting duties as we speak.

Sounds to me (SPOILERS!) like there's gonna be a lot of exposition to deal with seeing as Apocalypse ended with Raccoon City completely leveled and the zombie threat thought of as annihilated. (END SPOILERS!)

For the fourth film, Jovovich swings into action in Tokyo (?!). Preparations are already being made for that film, says the Reporter, with Anderson and Jeremy Bolt's Impact Pictures and Constantin Film at the helm. Although it's likely Jovovich will return as the franchise's heroine, Alice, no "formal deal" has been signed.
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

RE2 was a lot better than the boring shitfest that RE1 was. I'm down for 3 and 4.

I enjoyed fucking HOUSE OF THE DEAD more than RE2. atleast you could see what was happening in the lame ass fight scenes.

  4. I finally watched RE2 this weekend... or at least the first 15 minutes. I was too bored and annoyed by the complete lack of anything coming close to logic to go any further, not to mention the lack of anything resembling acting ability... actually, it was god awful on just about every level I can apply to a form of entertainment. It wasn't trying to be a zombie movie, it wasn't trying to be a movie movie... I don't know what it wanted to be except a train wreck of poor directing and even poorer scriptwriting.

I'd rather watch someone playing RE3 in all it's pixelated and low count polygon glory instead.

RE2 was even bigger shitfest than first film, and I actually liked that one, but on 2 I was ready to leave, and I get that notion very rarely. A perfect example on how to fuck up zombie flick with inane direction, godawful camera work, fighting and action scenes that shot/cut so badly that you cant understand wtf is going on. And on, on on .....

And Fuck Anderson. I used to like him, but his constant bullshiting and promises of "special" editions for his films, that "were butchered" by studios and thats why being dissapointing, turned me away. Where the fuck is my uncut RE version with all that zombie gore intact, or R cut of AVP that adds both more to storyline and battles?

Same there man. While HOTD was BAD, it did few things right, and gave me laughs. RE2 was just one big fuck up, and I only got headache and dissapointment, and I had no expectations for it whatsoever.

  6. The problem I see with this is that I think there's no real plan to include any of the game characters in RE3 (and beyond), and that was the best part of RE2.

Oh, and ANYBODY that would put HOTD higher than RE2 has some seriously shit taste in movies.
WARNING: This post may contain violent and disturbing images.

  7. They both shit, but as far as shit going, HOTD was shit that gave me some good laughs, and RE2 didnt, so HOTD wins. Pretty simple.

  8. Seriously, the last battle between Milla and the nemesis, the cuts were so fast and unclear that you litterally couldn't tell what was going on. HOTD was atleast funny.

  9. I'll be there day one for both.
