Thread: Pentagon Creating Student Database

  1. Pentagon Creating Student Database

The Defense Department began working yesterday with a private marketing firm to create a database of high school students ages 16 to 18 and all college students to help the military identify potential recruits in a time of dwindling enlistment in some branches.

  2. Well, it's more organized than having off-duty military bother in their cars covered in Kiss stickers bugging high school kids walking home...

"Hey, wanna join the Army/Navy/Marines/Coast Guard?"

    "Um...no"
EXCUSE ME, I'M IN NEED OF MEDICAL ATTENTION!

Every other company has databases like these, I'm surprised they just now came up with this idea.

They could still contact you even after you graduate. They like to recruit graduates to become officers instead of typical grunts..etc.. of course they'll still ship your ass out even if you are an officer. I also don't care though as I'm no student.

Im actually surprised I havent been contacted seeing I talked to a USMC recruiter a few years ago. All you have to say is no.

  7. I think this has to do with the possibility of Bush bringing on the draft, otherwise I don't see no reason to keep a list.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

There already is a list for a potential draft, its called Selective Service, and you're on it (along with every other 18+ year old male).

So whats the reason you see?

  9. So it's just like telemarketing, only with a different cause. Don't care

...actually I read this earlier, but somehow knew it would find its way to TNL

Yay I'm glad other people see it this way. People seem to get all up in arms (lol irony) over things like this but I don't get why. Same thing with recruiters in schools.
