Thread: Hurricane Season 2005

  1. For something the professes love so much, religion can be the most hateful thing in the world sometimes.

She was talking to a customer so I didn't say anything, but she went on to say that "We had better begin praying for mercy because we have Mardi Gras here too, you know." The things that come out of this woman's mouth sometimes just blow my mind. I was fucking speechless. Also, on the way to my moms house yesterday I saw a church sign that said

wtf, people are so goddamn dumb
I could never work with someone like that.
I'd end up knocking their teeth out.

As far as the looting goes, none of it surprises me, and it shouldn't surprise anyone else either.

The misquided sense of entitlement that these 'oppressed' douchebags have is only part of the problem.
You also have to take into account that there's a perception that most of the shit they're taking is insured or that it's all been abandoned.
Of course, there's also the fact that they think they'll never get caught.

When you brush off the thin sheen of civility and order, you see what people are really like.

Americans are no different than anyone else.

  3. Do none of these jesus freaks realize that Mardi Gras is a Catholic holiday? Oh the irony...

A couple days after 9/11 Jerry Fallwell claimed that what happened was divine punishment for all the homosexuality in New York. To remind you, our president meets with Jerry Fallwell once a month.

It is pandemonium over there. And CNN.com is showing a picture of an elderly woman with a blanket over her who died in her wheelchair at the New Orleans Convention Center. I can't believe how horrid the conditions are.

Nah, not really. They canceled classes Tuesday morning, which didn't affect me at all. Most of the town had power the next morning. We just got it back last night, but we're outside the city limits.

I have a few friends and a couple students from the coast, and they all want to go down there immediately. I guess I can understand why if they don't know where family members are and stuff. But I don't think anything in the world could convince me to go down there right now. I mean, they can drive down there, but how in the hell are they going to get back? There's no gas, food and water has to be scarce. It just doesn't seem very wise to me, but then again, I don't have unaccounted for family members.

I hope everyone who wanted to meet Tracer and Station did so by now. They are about to get screwed in the butt by the next Hurricane.
