What's the deal with Thundercats? Like, why do people remember it fondly? It was the same every episode...20 minutes of blah, Mum Ra changes into a miniskirt, then Lion-O shows up, whips out his schlong, gets an erection, and they all run off. The end.

...his sword. I meant he whips out his sword. But seriously, it was so formulaic.

  6. Haha.. I caught it on the very early Toonami block on Cartoon Network a few times and always found myself laughing at just that. It really was like the same thing all the time. I dunno, maybe people just liked Snarf's zingers.

    Don't hate on my Thundercats!

I think alot of the plot from Transformers is dumb and the fact that a robot and shrink and turn into a gun makes to sense at all. But I still like it.

I liked it back then. In retrospect it was just a He-Man ripoff. Sword helps you power up, decomposing main villain, silly henchmen, pussy sidekick (Snarf/Cringer), Toughguy sidekick (Panthro/Man-at-arms), shitty moral at the end, etc.

The only innovation Thundercats had was the hearty group laugh at the end of every episode.

btw, He-man is out on DVD this week. Season sets to follow:

People will remember the Transformers fondly forever becuase of the movie. No matter how bad the writing to the TF show was, the writing for the TF movie was just as good as any other scifi action movie, ever.

  10. It was on par with the GI Joe movie (and the GI Joe movie had a better theme song)
