Thread: Old Cartoons/tv shows from the 80's/90's

  1. Remember the Double Dragon Cartoon. That was so not needed for the franchise.

I think the TMNT makes at least the top 10 in opening songs/vidz.
Do I hear another thread title calling?

Man, I'd give anything to see robotix again. I have one ep on tape somewhere and 3 or 4 of the old kits.

  6. "Heya Fred.. time for a Winston break!" I have to watch that again.. did you get it online somewhere? I saw it on a video about tobacco companies in high school.

  7. Yea, there is a link on the website I posted that talks about banned cartoons. This one stuck out as well as Donald reading Nazi philosophy.

Same with Pole Position, jeez.

The same thing can be said for Dungeons & Dragons, only, really, it wasn't THAT popular, but it was well known. Hell, I'd even go so far as to say it was MORE popular before that stupid cartoon.

Any comic to cartoon stuff... you're kidding right? Comics. Cartoons. They didn't need the cartoons to sell toys of superheros. Did it help? I suppose. But keep in mind, superhero comics and their cartoon counterparts go way, way back to what? the 1930's and 40's?

Every television show ever made has been made to sell advertiser time and push products. Acting like everything went downhill after He-Man is just stupid. Need I go on?
My statement mearly was they were made to sell something. To say that Pac-Man wasn't made in hopes of maybe reaching out and selling more copies is naive. My statement stands that cartoons were geared to sell stuff, even if it was already based on something. Comic book sales going down? fine, make a cartoon, get some hype going again, and sales go back up. This is pretty basic stuff here. I also never said anything about things going downhill after he-man, just the fact that he-man opened the door for things being made to sell stuff, even if some of those things on my list weren't meant to sell something NEW. I love 80s cartoons, they are what they are, so nothing about downhill.... downhill would be the mid-late 90s.
