Let me be clear: 60K is good, solid money, and not just for a younger person. As you point out, I'm only saying that before you know it, you are confronted by a slew of considerations and attendant expenses that you likely never dreamed of. Unfortunately, many people's "dreams," or even simple expectations of happiness, revolve around things that require money to obtain. A societal flaw, perhaps, but man does the money go quickly.

I want to be a metal-star, not a rock-star. Rock-stars sell several millions copies of their albums to screaming teens, they usually make a hell of a lot of money, they become popular cultural idols, they start trends and lead styles, they get loads of women and then, more likely then not...they disappear.

Metal-stars sell hundreds of thousands of their albums to strange people with long hair and bullet-belts, they usually live in near poverty or work a full-time job around their music, they become the anti-thesis to popular cultural idols, they end trends and say "fuck style", some get loads of women and they usually stay in the music industry for years, sometimes way beyond their prime.

I dislike Burne Hogarth's art style, but his books are great tools to help you learn the basics. His clothing book is especially good.

It's just putting stuff together. You don't have to do it in the organic, almost tree-like style of his.

You sound a bit jaded, but I think you're old enough to be allowed jaded status. Like I said, all I want in life is to animate things, because I enjoy simulating movement, and the challenges and new technologies that advance the industry. I also enjoy seeing my work outputted for people to see and enjoy (or not). If they don't that's fine too, but atleast they saw it.

If riches follow then that's even better.

This is one of the truest statements I have ever seen on TNL. Provided you are single, especially, 60k will get you a nice place, a nice car, and all the toys you want (within reason of course) Many FAMILIES live on 60k and do alright, drive decent cars, have a decent townhouse, eat good food, etc...But 60k for a bachelor, if you don't blow your money on stupid shit, will get you pretty fucking far.
