It's fucking Dig Dug, is everyone saying it's a must-buy being sarcastic or what?
Craig @ IGN scored the game. Gave it a 6.0:

Said it's fun in "short bursts" but that the control is "too rigid" (no touch screen which would have been ace for the island chaning) and even though it's an old game, the graphics are needlessly ugly and overall presentation and execution are sloppy (you need two copies of the game to play multiplayer and are forced to sit through all instructional screens for mini games). Craig is IMHO a reliable reviewer and definitely and old school fan at heart (yes his Gradius Galaxies review was lame but that was a long time ago) I will reserve final judgment though till more TNL'ers chime in on this. This bit has me intrigued though:
The designers parody other Namco arcade games in this mode, putting players in control of a Xevious ship or a Rally-X car in simple challenges to keep the monster in place on the upper screen. Retrogamers will get a chuckle out of the occasional references tossed into the action.

So what you're saying is "it's Dig Dug which is fun," no really? What parts of "not being able to use the stylus to chain the islands" and "sloppy presentation" don't you understand? Not saying it was supposed to be a AAA title.Originally Posted by Mzo

Are you quoting from your post? I didn't read it.Originally Posted by Dylan1CC

Mzo is partially right. This game would be nice on a compilation disk. But not as a standalone.
Oh yea, about the reviewer .. Dig Dug ALWAYS had shitty controls. Go back and play the original sometime.
Ah, I thought you were replying to my post since i upped the thread today, my bad.
I rule. This would make for a fine $20 purchase, and Dig Dug dude as Mr. Driller's father is a neat bit of trivia. This would be better on a compilation, and I'm sure Namco will do just that if this tanks.Originally Posted by Mzo

I'd love to play it, it looks rad, but I couldn't see paying retail prices for it.
When's the last time you paid retail price for a game?

Sad to see the poor ratings. I really enjoyed the arranged versions of the Namco Museum games, so I was hoping this would be at least as good.
