So this game has been solid so far (I'm in the middle of Chapter 5), it's definitely fun, but it sure as hell is no RE4. It's missing all of the suspense that the game had. While the game wasn't outright scary, it put you into situations where you were at the edge of your seat. I haven't felt like that at all in RE5. Maybe it's the addition of playing through the game with someone, but it just doesn't feel Resident Evil enough.

On that note, the addition of native africans with spears and shields is fun, and a lot of the documents that are tying together story lines from previous games are fucking awesome. And the part with the licker cages was so fucking sweet. My friend was fucking around saying "I dare you to shoot the cage", ::shotgun to the glass::, 10 lickers murdering us. CLASSIC!. I'm down to play if anyone wants to, just be like "holla".

As I said in an earlier post, in the beginning of the game, even the non-infected Africans are portrayed as monsters. I think if Capcom would have showed Chris interacting with the African villagers on a semi-friendly level BEFORE they turned into monsters a lot of people's complaints would have been rendered null.

It really bears mentioning that none of this even matters since Capcom caved to the controversy before any of this was relevant. It was a handful of crazy assholes that went after this AND RE4, as soon as the trailers were out.
