Yeah, it does, because those cartoons were mostly awful and you couldn't be looking at them with more rose-tinted glasses if you tried.

It is nostalga. Most of those old toons are absolutly horrific. They were entertaining at the time for a reason...we were 7 years old. At that same time a few cardboard boxes made for a kick ass fort and hearing the ice cream truck coming down the street could put you into hysterics.

I'm talking about the over all quality and time put into some of them. Like Mighy Max was a very informative show for kids and even now. Geology, science, history and math. They put all that into this cartoon and made it apealing and cool to watch while you learn even if it was just a spin off form the toy.

Lets not even get into X-men...

What? Yeah, I think every kid needs to learn that lava beasts come from the center of the earth that you can access from a portal in the midwestern US....but once you visit the lava beasts you'll get stuck in Mongolia. Oh, and I'm sure that knowing that Norman the bodyguard was really Thor and hearing the 'Einstein Chicken' deduce mathematical equations to destroy zombies helped us all on our ACT's.

They were stupid shows designed to push toys. Accept it.

You know good and well there was more to the show than just that.

Then why did you list Swat Katz and James Bond Jr.? For one thing, Swat Katz was only decent when it had good animation and the episodes with good animation were done overseas. They alternated back and forth between terrible fifth-grade drawings and slickly done Japanese output with a budget, so if you're going to exclude non-American shows then cut that one out because it was only good when it was non-American.

James Bond Jr... no. I couldn't stand that show as a kid so I can imagine how absolutely horrible it is now.

As an aside, I'll bet money most of those shows were done by overseas animators, like how Johnny Quest was outsourced to the Philippines.

  9. Since we're jocking old 80's toons................. well shit, ever go back and seriously watch them these days? He-Man is like a half hour gay joke. Ninja Turtles is pretty good and um, Transformers is if you're an uber dork. The old Mario cartoons sucked, GI Joe while a cool concept with neato PSA's was still retarded, kids shows have more or less always been the same.
