  2. I just got back from the advanced screening, and holy shit this movie was fucking fantastic. I hope this thread explodes with comments once every one sees it, because there is a lot to talk about. I think I'm going to enact a policy to not always read the source material before seeing a movie. My friend read the graphic novel and fucking hated all the changes, wheras I went in fresh and fucking loved every minute of it. This thing was enthralling from begining to end, a solid 10. Easily the best damn movie I've seen in theatres in a very long time. And to think I actually wasted my fucking time and money seeing ultraviolet today.

Glad to hear that. I have never heard anything about this until the movie and am very interested. It reminds a ton of 1984 except with action. I frealing loved 1984 amd just the though of an action movie with a somewhat similar plot has me excited. I really hope this turns out as good as you say.

  4. I just saw this too, and I really enjoyed it. I haven't read the graphic novel either though.

  5. Just saw it. Not having read the graphic novel, all I can say is that I fucking loved the movie. The Wachowski's penchant for mind-numbingly pretentious dialog was, surprisingly, not terribly overbearing, which certainly could've ruined the film (as it did with the Matrix sequels, imo). The way the movie started, with V's rediculous V-filled diatribe had me figuring it was going to go down that path, too, but luckily it lightened up later (though it still occasionally got on the rediculous side).

Regardless, it was absolutely one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had at the movies in years, despite having seen dozens of movies which I would call better "films." As an action movie, this stands with Batman Begins as the best I've seen in a long, long time, I can't even remember the last action movie I liked as much as either. And I think I liked Vendetta even more than Begins.

I love you Regus. Agreed on every single point.

I'm really glad I hadn't read the source material going into this, because I'm sure it would've had an effect on my enjoyment. But that said, I'm intending to pick up the graphic novel now as soon as I can.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  7. They mocked them right into the sex change surgeon's office.

I wanna see this movie bad, but I am predicting an epic struggle with the SO, V for Vendetta on my side vs. her and... Failure to Launch.

    I hate my life.

  8. According to Ebert, people are bitten by dolphins in Failure to Launch. You may be in luck!

Shit like this is why I don't go to the movies anymore.

Um, just see both? The way me and DJ do it, is I see shit he would find boring either with my girlfriends or by myself. No need to subject him to chick flicks. Luckily we have pretty much the same taste in movies. You guys have me hopeful for this movie, got to get the bad taste of Ultraviolet out of my mouth.
