Picked up Garbage Pail Kids DVD and got my first free issue of Harcore Gamers Magazine. It looks just like Game Fan (which is good).

It's not bad, the inside is really nice with good art direction, and lots of pics. For pure info, I prefer EGM, but I would buy this mag too.

I didn't like the generic and boring layouts for the Reviews section. The whole thing just felt off and amateurish to me... even though GF had a similar "homemade" feel to it, it just had more character.

I don't know, I have a really hard time putting it into words, but I didn't think it was very good. There's always time and room to improve I guess.

EGM is not terrible. I don't agree with every single review 100%, but I am not an elitist asshole and realize that reviews are opinions and make my own decisions about buying games. They also have lots of previews about all systems and good articles on occasion.
