Thread: What Are You Playing?

  1. Since I got the DS 2 weeks ago, I have been getting some of the awesome GBA games I missed, like the Castlevania 2 in 1 pack, Final Fantasy Tactics, Advanced War 2, and also playing Meteos. Just got Gunstar Super Heroes so I will be busy with that as well! Sweet!

Oops, forgot that I unlocked the Handcannon from RE4 and went thru the story mode with it, so easy

  2. Meteos, Ridge Racer 6, DMC 3:SE. Games that don't require me to dedicate multiple hour blocks to really get an enjoyment of the game play are my favorites.

  3. #203
I recently beat Pariah. I was really anticipating this before it came out but I delayed getting it because it wasn't well received. I was hoping it would be Halo mixed with Unreal Tournament and while it isn't as good as those it still does actually feel like a mix of both. I enjoyed it.

I'm at the beginning of a few different games like:

Meteos - Playing a bit here and there for quick fixes. Addictive.

Fatal Frame - I played the PS2 demo back when it came out and wasn't sure if it was for me. I bought the Xbox version and gave it another try. I really like it so far.

Crimson Tears - Review scores weren't that great but I always wanted to check the game out and finally did. I love the style and it seems like a decent dungeon crawl/beat 'em up so far. I just hope the gameplay gets better when you learn more moves as it's pretty simplistic at the moment.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy - I bought this for really cheap in December because a few TNL'ers considered it underrated. I like it although I will probably delay playing through it until I have beaten other stuff.

The point of these threads is to discuss your progression and thoughts of the game, not just say what you played. So shoot.

  5. There's no problem with the combat of Crimson Tears. There's a major problem with motivation though. There's like no reason to play it all, no concrete goals and no real storyline. Also the 'random' dungeon layout is very repetitive, especially when you need to clear dungeons an expontential number of times to progress. For me, it ended up feeling pointless too quickly.

I've been playing Virtual On: Marz, and it's actually much better than I initially thought, partially because I didn't realize you can edit the controls at first, as the default twinstick doesn't assign the triggers the way I like. It's also pretty stingy about rewarding new machines and the menus are cumbersome as hell, but good game all around.

Interesting! I just cannot get into Marz. It feels so slow and unresponsive compared to VOOT. Plus, I just cannot get used to using the dual analog as twinsticks, I love the Saturn/DC twinsticks.... wish there is an adapter that allows me to play Marz with it.

  7. All I really play nowadays is Animal Crossing
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  8. Maverick Hunter X, NFSMW(360), WoW(Most of the time)

  9. Devil May Cry 3. Not the SE. I bought the original one when it came out and I'm finally getting around to beating it.

On mission 18 right now. Kicking all the bosses asses with all your new weapons and crap is really fun - it really showed me how much I've gotten better at the game.

Cerberus took me a few tries to beat the first time around. I kicked his ass in 3 minutes the second time. Felt good. Take that you three headed whore.

  10. Fatal Frame is glorious, neo. Although I played the Xbox version which had many extras. It knocked the first Silent Hill out of my top Survival Horror game slot with ease and even made it into my overall top ten! It was just so well done in every way... except the voice acting. But we won't speak of that.

I'm playing mostly Jak 2 this last week. It's great. Kills the first one. I'm at 70% and still isn't nearly as hard and frustrating as so many people bitched. I'm no platformer expert either. Pretty average in the skills department in fact. I'm sure if you're trying to get every last egg it's much harder. But that's for people who want the extra challenge so you're not allowed to complain about that.
