Pretty much every night. And there was a three or four hour block of videos during the day. I also watched some of their other shit, like those documentaries about sex =O. Anyway, my first two CDs - Nirvana Unplugged and Dookie - were probably my first because I really liked the About a Girl and Longview.

Anyway, over time the channel just became unbearable but it was pretty cool at that time.
I grew up watching Mtv and cartoons. I can still remember my older sister singing along to material girl and girls just want to have fun while I played with my rock lords and legos. Those were the days.

  2. I did watch MTV back in the day for videos but then around '93 or so we started to get this channel called The Box. It was just music videos 24 hours a day and you could call in a request a video for like $1. I think I only called in to request something twice (at my friends place, of course) but there was quality videos on all day long. Then MTV became just something to wacth cartoons and the real world. Until the cartoons started to suck and the reality shit got old.

  3. I watched "What's the Alternative" with Kennedy. That was around the time MTV came out with all those cartoons, and still had Liquid television. So, I was watching Bevis & Butthead, The Head, The Maxx, The Brothers Grunt (sucked), and of course Aeon Flux.

Yeah, I remember The Box. Everytime I'd turn it on they were playing Peaches by the POTUSA or something by Alice in Chains.

I think I lost touch with MTV when they started churning out all those crap game shows and reality shows. I mean, Singled Out was funny for a little bit. Loveline was funny (and provided an interesting early sexual education). But, the Real World and all the rest of that shit just..didn't work.

Oh yeah, Buzz Kill should have lasted longer.
    Time for a change

  4. The last time I remember seeing a music video on MTV was whenever Undertow had just came out and they were playing the Sober video around midnight.

  7. I like that game show Smashed or whatever where they would take the contestants' shit and break it if they lost.

Man, I had a total crush on her.

Anyway, I started watching around the time Jackson's "Thriller" video came out. They used to play the "making of" all the time too. Seeing MJ giggle like a girl always confused me.

I was also pretty big on Madonna and looked forward to every video she put out up until that one where she's dressed in latex and inside a bunch of squares. I stopped listening to music around then.

My childhood idols suck ass now

    True.

I thought Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun was an awesome video. Still one of the freakiest videos I've ever seen.

Freakiest video ever I saw on launch.com. It was Skinny Puppy's Worlock. http://launch.yahoo.com/promos/halloween.
