Well said. they will never understand, StriderKyo. RR6 is born from a time when pure arcade racing games reigned in the arcades for years during the Daytona USA/Virtua Racing/Ridge Racer era. People seem to have forgotten what it's like to pick up and play a simple yet addicting racing game. I would say RR6 and 7 is a nod to the fans of arcade games who spent countless quarters playing head to head against their friends. The addition of nitrous just adds a whole new dimension to the already infectious gameplay. And the online simply takes it to the next level, transforming what is already a fantastic game into a multi-player fiesta of orgasmic proportions.
I will be getting my custom FFB steering wheel back from my friend soon and once it's done, my time will spent playing RR7 online. Look for Isamuu.
Speaking of which, I can't wait for REVO on 360.
I can't bear all this talk of sega arcade racers. I played Daytona and SR2 to no end on the DC. Have they had any recent home conversions aside from Outrun? I would honestly pay a full $60 for a home version of Sega Super GT with little extras and unchanged, decade old graphics.
That Initial D also looks nice, any one play it?
That's the lamest image ever posted on TNL. Congrats.
Oh please, I've been playing arcade racers since the days of Monaco GP. Just because I didn't really like what I played of RR6 doesn't mean I don't appreciate the style, which is what I don't see here. Games like Sega Rally, and Daytona were quick and easy to get into, with action right off the bat. Strider says that I've basically played a 12-race tutorial.
I'm not saying that RR6 is a bad game by any means. I'm saying that it takes too long to get interesting for me, and I didn't feel the same thing I feel when I play other arcade racers.
I'll give it another shot (about the third already), and I sincerely hope it gets better.
