Thread: Iran Executes Two Homosexual Boys

What's this "left" you're talking about? Point it out to me there, will you.

And I hope you don't mean support the war in IRAQ - The war in IRAQ that was started to find the Weapons of Mass Destruction that were known not to exist? If the reasons for that war were good, then why did they have to lie to make it happen?

Islam actually stands for everything liberals claim to stand against (which is why they oppose christianity): Homophobia, Social Injustice, Xenophobia, Violence, Intolerance, etc. It just so happens that a conservative president is involved in a war against islamic entities- hence why liberals are so sympathetic to their cause.

Left, left, left.....WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS LEFT?

Are you so ignorant that you think everybody that leans democratic shares some coporate mindset or reads from the same handbook "How to be a bleeding heart Nazi sympathizer"?

What, you think there are no Christian liberals or atheist republicans?

Where is this "Left" and who comprises it? I'd really love an answer to that one.

  3. Opposing the war in Iraq != opposing the war on terror.

    Additionally

Disagreeing with how the war on terror is being carried out != being opposed to the concept entirely

  4. Actually, what Zerodash said is what drove a rift between myself and the people who are supposed to be my "fellow liberals" and whatnot. Granted, what Mo7's said is true, in addition - I wouldn't dispute that because I know plenty of REALLY religious liberals (I don't know any athiest Republicans, but I'm not going to discount that possibility). Zero was just generalizing and he's correct because most left-leaning folks are like what he described. Even my Christian liberal friends spit vitriol about the President and sympathize with Islam.

The fact that these two boys were killed because they love one another really ought to be reason enough for the WORLD (not just the USA) to be proactive and initiate change over there. Saying things like, "They're in a dark age, they'll come out of it," or crap like that which encourages waiting does not help. Look at this bullshit:

Homosexuality is illegal, those charged with love-making are given a choice of four deathstyles: being hanged, stoned, halved by a sword, or dropped from the highest perch.
Come on now. Halved by a sword? Stoned? That has to change, it's evil.

That's a concept many people can't grasp. But this has nothing to do with terrorism, it has to do with Islam just being an all-around shitty religion. I don't care if this sort of thing is specific to Iran.

    .
i was under the impression we had yoshi for that, honestly its not that easy for a christian to be a republican, most observant christans would be more inclined to fiscally liberal views as part of the religions message of giving of yourself to help the poor. its more a marriage of convenience than an actual sympathy for the views. anyhow, its interesting that this stirs you up that much, in third world countries there are all kinds of atrocities done for reasons we dont agree with, but this somehow hits the line for some people. As fucked up as this is, african govenrments have done things 10 tiems worse but it dosent catch the worlds eye because its more conventional starving of their people and degrading their people into slavery.

My point is better condensed by Mike:

I believe in the all mighty dollar. Can I still be atheist?

In all seriousness, I am more agnostic than atheist, but for the purposes of this discussion, it is close enough.

I don't know Yoshi personally, so he doesn't count. If I knew he acted in real life the way he acts on here, then he'd count.

honestly its not that easy for a christian to be a republican, msot observant christans would be more inclined to fiscally liberal views as part of the religions message of giving of yourself to help the poor.
But then, how many of those people actually observe proper worship and help the poor? They're too busy engaging in the same activities as the rest of us (greed, sloth, envy, etc.) and then confessing on Sunday. Hey! Sorry, God! Yadda yadda yadda, nice talking to you, Father, I have to get back home and work on my day off so that I can buy the new Mercedes!

That stirs me up, too. Again, my "fellows" are quick to avert their eyes from something bad that going on.

I'd say it was very easy. The two words go hand in hand here. Ofcorse I think it would be easier for the locals here to be democrats if liberals would leave their fucking gun rights alone.
