I'm surprised there isn't an official thread already for the game. I had a chance to play it for quite a while with some Intel guys at their private VIP thing. Schmoozing gets you far.

Anyway, I'm extremely impressed with the game. I was never a fan of the old Quake games, but this is amazing. The guns feel very substantial, which fixes my main gripe about Q3A. It's overall a little bit slower than Q3A also. Not sure what else I can say, but I'm sure I could answer a question or two for anyone who's interested.

Can't wait to get this game.

It's still fast-paced, but it doesn't have that roadrunner on speed feel of Q3. More like Unreal Tourrnament, I'd say.

But is is still soley deathmatch? Or did they bring it back to Quake II.

It looks from that trailer that there's a new single player mode with a lot of thought put into it. That wasn't on display at QuakeCon, though; only the multiplayer. I played CTF...not sure if the other display (the public one) was in DM or CTF, but it definitely wasn't single player.

The multiplayer videos definitely looked as fast/faster than Quake 3, but the singleplayer looks slower.

I'm pretty damn excited. Players of the multiplayer said it felt like CPMA, which is pretty much all I can hope for in a deathmatch game.

I'm interested but I expect it to be a typical Raven developed FPS: solid but not really offering anything new or special to the genre.

itll have DM but i dont think itll be as polished as quakewars. the main focus is on the single player this round.
