Had the game had little to no sailing, it would have been far more seamless and enjoyable, so yup, I'm all for that opinion.Originally Posted by Opaque
WW was an amazing game even with the sailing in it.
If the sailing was taken out, I would go far as to say it would be perfect for what it was.

Wind Waker is one of the greatest looking games ever made. That helps it quite a bit.
But I dropped it as soon as the triforce hunt arrived. Combined with the sailing, it just wasn't enjoyable.

Wind Waker looked amazing, especially the three main boss battles.
The tentacle creature still impresses the shit out of me.
Wind Waker's marine exploration was completely tedious and was by far the worst aspect of the gameplay.
I think if the sailing were replaced with on-rails point-to-point racing or shooting segments then the game would be near-perfect.
You'd just select a destination and plot a course, then use the wind waker to blow you in the right direction, and maybe fight monsters or race along the way.
Another problem with Wind Waker was that you were surrouded by water most of the time, but you could never explore underwater or go deep-sea fishing, or do anything else that was actually fun.
Didn't the exact same thing happen last year with RE4?
People bitched that it got delayed, but as the soon as the game came out
"Game of the Generation!!RE4 ROX!!"
Deja vu next year.
RE4 wasn't a generation behind when it was released. We'll see what impact it has, but I think it'll do worse overall for the delay, just because there will be so much more people will care about come march.

So all the Xbox360 launch games are going to blow away Zelda? I seriously don't think so. The gen a game comes out in doesn't determine whether or not it will be a good game or a good selling game.Originally Posted by Ammadeau
