I go to university next year, and this has got me wondering about what my life will be like during that time, and how things will turn out after.

I have no idea whatsoever about either.

Hi! I'm new, but I wanted to comment. I'm 40, still pretty, but my teenagers drive me up the wall. All I ever wanted to be was a vet. When I told my dad, his sorry-ass comment was, "if you're going to be a doctor, be a REAL doctor" . He never gave me a dime to go to school. When I got married, I tried to get my husband to move midway between his work and the college I need to go to, and he refused. He got his payback. He got laid off after 22 years. There's poetic justice in that somehow. But no, its not. Just pick yourself up, throw yourself on the couch and watch King of the Hill!

In other news, I had many scenarios for my life. So far my life is following the road where I go to college, graduate, and become a cynical bastard over the internet.

I'm exactly where I thought I would be four years ago, when I started school. I just got to my PHD program, and things are going pretty well. I have to take the examinations for the first time in a week, we get four tries, over two years, to pass two exams. I think I can pass one of them right now, which puts me about a year ahead of schedule.

I've found out, in the past few years, that I am alot smarter then I thought I was. I really have alot of talent, which is something I had no idea about untill I got to college. So yah, things are going well.

I've also managed to not owe anybody money. Never had a credit card, car (and I still won't need one for at least 4 years, yay), blah blah blah.

And I listen to a lot more Hip-Hop than I could have ever envisioned. Tastes really fucking change sometimes.

I'm not where I thought I would be at all and I'm glad.

When I was younger I wanted to go to MIT and start a computer company and be rich. When I was in my early years of Highschool I wanted to be a rapper (thank God I grew out of that) and in my later years of Highschool I wanted to be a Green Beret or a Marine, I still have a bit of vision when it involves being a Marine but my life got kind've fucked up when it comes to the military.

Now I'm working a blue-collar job as a service technician for pumps, well drilling and water conditioning. I'm making close to 40K a year and have the potential of making 6 figures with a yearly average of around 60-70K a year depending on how fast business is and things involving sales of various things we work with. I'm also getting ready to make a lot of good moves with music which may cause me to quit my job in the future. I'm in a Black Metal band and a Death Thrash type band, the Black Metal band being my own and the other one just one I'm doing vocals for and Mykozo and I are putting together a record label in the future if all goes well.

I can certainly still see myself being dead before 30 which I've always thought I wouldn't make it to but maybe I'll live longer.

When I was, like, eight, I thought I'd be this buff badass, with arms as thick as tree trunks and I'd drive a jet pack to school, and I'd make all the other kids jealous, so I'd beat 'em up.

I still want that jet pack, though.

I'm getting my results from my examinations (maths, further maths, physics, chemistry and music) I took this summer, which pretty much defines which university I can get into when I apply in two months time (I go September 2006).

I'm hoping to go to Cambridge (to study maths), and I think if I get straight As I have a good chance, but if I don't get straight As, then I need not apply, as entry is difficult; there are four candidates per place.

So tomorrow pretty much defines my future in terms of which university I go to.
