vets have a lot less bullshit to deal with and make very good money.
Its actually tougher to get to vet school than med school (because there's so few of them), and the pay is really really good. Especially if you move to Lexington, KY or some other horse-racing place and work on the horses.
You probably get treated better than doctors, too, and you dont have to deal with HMOs and shit.
Your dad is ridiculous and stupid.

To answer the first post question...
I honestly never planned to be alive past 16 so this is all new.
[Insert large, loud, flashing signature here]
What is up with all of these people who never thought they would live past [insert young age here] years old? Why did you think that?
So I just got my results this morning:
Physics - A - 95% Avg
Chemistry - A - 85% Avg
Maths - A - 96% Avg
Music - B - 72% Avg (boundary for A was 80%)
Further maths: Statistics - 87%
Decision Maths - 71%
I'm disappointed about music, I was really hoping for an A there.
I thought I would have done better in the two further maths modules, but its not the end of the world as they don't count till next year, when I tie them up with another module (a pure one, with lots of calc, which is good), which I will hopefully get a better mark in.
I'll still apply to Cambridge, as out of those subjects, music is the most irrelevant. Hopefully I'll get in.

It's all algorithms concerning optimising things, like finding the shortest route through a network, optimising flow in a flow network. It's pretty weird, but more directly related to life than most branches of maths.Originally posted by Ironplant

I don't like the subject.
