Can't forget about what I don't own, hence the omission.

    Availability: Discontinued

    Which, apparently has:

The International Cut - This is a more violent version of the film and is the BR version seen by most.
    - Tyrell's death scene is more graphic with two additional shots of Batty's thumbs poking Tyrell's eyes.
    - Additional footage of the fight between Deckard and Pris. This version shows Pris inserting two fingers into Deckard's nose and pulling it backward. It also shows Deckard shooting Pris 3 times to kill her, whereas the Domestic & Director's Cut versions only show him shooting her twice.
    - Additional shot of Batty pushing the nail through the palm of his hand and then showing it come through the back of it.
    - Deckard's narration and happy ending included.

I got one a few years back, prize it.
Yeah that sounds amazing, I can't for the life of me understand why the dvd thats out now is so shitty, lackluster and featureless.

Because it was one of the first DVDs released.

    I think.

Anyway, theres a bad ass special edition of the film thats supposed to come out at some point w/ three different versions of the film. Original, Directors cut, and a new directors cut.

There are legal issues holding up the release.

  7. Kevin Smith's comment was from the Mallrats LD. It was odd the first time I heard his comment, but it was near the beginning of DVD and not everybody was convinced of the format at that point. Around that time, LD was still the "serious" video format, and DVD was sort of a Joe-average toy. Later, he made it a point on the Mallrats DVD to say, "Remember how I said fuck DVD? Well, whoops."

I still have my DVD player, and a handfull of LDs - Star Wars IV, Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, Tenchi Muyo in Love, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Braveheart, Better Off Dead, and some others. I really have no idea why I still have the stuff.

I can't believe that anybody would look at both and ever say that LD is the better format. DVD is compressed, LD is not, yes, but LD has nowhere near the resolution, color quality, or image clarity that DVD has. This is most notable in cartoons, anime, or other brightly-colored stuff - I remember comparing my Tenchi the Movie LD and DVD, and even though the Tenchi DVD was back in the early days of DVD when compression was still pretty rough, it blew the holy hell out of the LD version in every way possible.

Yes, movies that played back VIA A NEEDLE and The last act of an american owned RCA.
    That's just jaw-dropping.
I used to joke about just such a device, having no clue it actually existed.
I can't believe there were 1700 movies released for that thing.

I remember staying at a friends house and renting one of those. You'd slide in the large LP like cartridge and remove it. The movies played alright, but once in a while it would skip and you'd have to reload it. We had rented Cheech and Chong's: Up in smoke, TRON and some other movie.
