    I guess you're right. It's sad really, especially the better job part. One guy waiting around nearby had brought his laptop in 3 times already without a fix. I'm sure a local shop could have one shotted it for half the price. Then there's always the accusations that stores like Best Buy do half ass jobs, or do this sort of thing on purpose.

    I'm sure generally the quality of BB repairs is shoddy. It has to be. When I bring my portable DVD player in because it won't load menus or sometimes not even play a movie, and list all these things that are happening, and get it back with all those problems again, I question that service. The repair manifest even said "Maintence cleaning"! WTF.

    Not to go too far off on a tangent, but this is the third time I've been to BB with my 4 year plan in hand. I originally bought a Polaroid portable DVD player, and it broke twice and I got it replaced twice - no questions asked, here's your store credit. On the second breakdown, I noticed the value of the original player dropped by 70, so I got a Toshiba player which was the same price the Polaroid was. They had no problem with this, and even transfered over the plan.

    Now I come there expecting an exchange again.. and now they want to try and fix it? And then not fix it the first time? I was a [i]little[/] annoyed. If you ever buy a portable DVD player, always get the 4 year plan but don't expect too much.

    But one thing Shinobi, you have to consider in working for Geeksquad at the repair desk, is that if the repair department does a half-ass or no-ass job on something, you will get the direct blame and heat from the customer. I mean, I was pretty annoyed that nothing was done to my player, but I restrained myself because I know it's not the guy's fault. Other assholes may not feel the same way, in that yelling at you will somehow make things better. Sure you may run into this in any retail environment, but if BB service is as shoddy as I think it is, you'll be running into it alot.

  5. I saw one turning in to the blockbuster on Harwood while I was heading to the post office. It was black and orange.

    I think the company started up seperately in Cali, under that name. BB didnt pick it from what I know.

    Yes they do drive the black & white VW Beetle with their clip on ties. I been working for the company part time for about 3 months and I'm raedy to leave. I worked at Radio Shack a few years ago and as much as I hated them I like best Buy even less. Best Buy as you 've known them in the past are chaning also it's looking more like a car dealership than anything.

    I do housecalls for my job every day all day but it's not computer stuff but I sort of catch your meaning.
