Thread: Slither

  1. Slither

This movie looks like an old fashioned nasty-ass 80s horror movie. It's been forever since a gory, slimy horror movie has come out. You can check out the trailer here:

  2. Heh, replying to my own thread! Well, I saw Slither tonight, and it was awesome! The gore effects were excellent, most of it was actual make-up work with some CG thrown in. The biggest suprise is this movie is funny. Really funny. Gallows humor at it's best. If you are a fan of horror/comedies or old school gore flicks you should check this movie out. Look for nods to Goosebumps books and The Toxic Avenger!

  3. I am seeing it today. Cant wait. Bits and pieces of it that I saw, made it look like a winner, and word of the mouth from the horror fans, seems to support that.

Its been a while since good, gory and funny creature feauture so Slither seems to fill this niche pretty well.

I will post my comments later tonight

  4. Written and directed by James Gunn, he's on a roll (wrote the Dawn Remake, the 2 Scooby Doo movies and started with Troma). He knows his horror, hopefully this will be the movie I wanted Hostel to be.

Oh, it is much better than Hostel. It is more gory but somehow less mean-spirited. It reminds me of Eight Legged Freaks the way it mixes horror and comedy.

  6. It's a good movie but it starts really slow. Nowhere near as good as the Dawn remake. I like the mayor, he rules.

Ha, he was my favorite character too.

Nathan Fillion is in it. Maybe I should see this.

  9. I've heard great things. Last night it was rated 90% on Rotten Tomatoes AND it already had 40 reviews, which is fucking rediculous for RT.

Definately going to see this tomorrow after I goto studio.

  10. This movie is high up on my list. I must see it this weekend.

Gory and mean-spirited are two different worlds. Dead Alive is one of the goriest things I've ever seen and it doesn't have a mean-spirited second in it.

Eight Legged Freaks = best $5.50 I've spent in the Walmart bargin bin all year.
