Thread: Ultimate Spiderman

  1. Maximum Carnage did follow the comics very well though. It even used pages from the comics in between levels.

I thought that was pretty cool. If I wasn't such a insane spiderman comic fan at the time I probably wouldn't have liked it as much, but it really did follow the story almost flawlessly.

  2. The Ultimate line of comics puts the regular Marvel universe to shame. Hopefully this trend will carry over into the game.

I played the demo on GC at work, and the level I was playing reminded me a lot of a 3D free-roaming Rampage... so it may be repeatative, but goddamn did I have a lot of fun with it, so I'll definitely pick it up at some point.

But, the last time I played it, I was ten, so what do I know?
I enjoyed it. I believe I was older than 10. But hey, most beat-em-ups on SNES I liked, esp. comic book ones. My favorite was Death and Return of Superman, along with the X-Men game.

Looks like us "yutes" are the only ones who seemed to have liked this game. Interesting.
My neighbor had it, so I played it there all the time.

  4. The Konami Batman on SNES was an awesome beat'em up. Grab two bad guys one on each arm and slam'em together.

And the music was top top top notch.

That was definitely a sweet game.

OK. I mean good, or something.

  7. Genesis Spider-Man for the win.

Where's the love for the Sega CD game? Minus the theme music, of course.

  9. Maximum Carnage was fun, but looked like complete shit. I'll never forget Game Players showing every bonus hero, and then just laughing at how bad Captain America looked. "Save the city, save it from this path of destruction..." - greatest Spidey music ever. The arcade Spider-Man game kills all of the console ones. I'm glad to see so much love for Batman Returns on the SNES. That's my favorite Batman game, and it still looks good today.

  10. Incidentally, how was Seperation Anxiety? For some reason I seem to remember it being pretty good.
