Thread: Paypal Disputes, oh my!

    Paypal Disputes, oh my!

So I sold my GBA on eBay a few weeks ago and sent it along.

A few days after he receives it, the man tells me the gameboy only works for a few minutes and then shuts off. Without giving me a chance to respond, he sends another email telling me he has sent it back for me to inspect.

I tell him I'll check it out when I get it.

Today I get it, and it works perfectly for the 2 hours, 43 minutes I play it. I email him, telling him it works fine.

He responds telling me he doesn't want it and wants a refund. Normally I'd oblige and give him his refund minus any incurred fees. But then he decides to file a Paypal dispute without giving me a chance to offer the refund.

Now I don't want to give the mother fucker anything back, and if I was to allow the Paypal dispute to go through, I would lose money via fees and shipping.

He'll probably do a reversal and take the money right out of your account. Thats what has happened to me in the past.

I don't have money in my account, and he's in the middle of a dispute.

I need to know how to respond to the dispute.

  4. man that sucks...i dont know shit about paypal but why dont you file a complaint right back at him...thats what i would...next to inviting him to my house so i can fight him .

  5. E-mail PayPal and say "Look, this mother fucker can't even type correctly or spell, he's a fucking moron and is clearly trying to pull some bullshit."

Seriously, how can they refute that?

I know homie. I'd just call and contact paypal and the buyer if at all possible. Also get ready to file a dispute with ebay that way you might avoid seller fees. Maybe even put a strike on his account, he probably has done it before and already has strikes against him.

  7. Obviously this guy spent money and regretted the purchase (maybe hes broke) and is looking for a way to get it back, whether he has to fuck you over or what. Did he send the GB back through the mail in a way that is traceable? If not, I'd just keep the thing and say he never gave sent it back and keep it and the money.

He sent with delivery confirmation, but he never mentioned returning it in the dispute. I'm going to send it back unless I lose the dispute.

I'm thinking of just responding to the dispute that the GB worked fine, I tested it and it worked fine, he returned it back without my permission and it tested fine, and he probably just regrets his purchase.

    Here's his ebay feedback:

6 positive, one neutral, and one withdrawn

  9. He didn't warn you about this ahead of time and just chucked it through the mail. I say don't pay him until the both of you find some way to resolve this, but in the meantime, contact paypal, give them the info (links help) of the sales transaction and account, then wait and see what they have to say about this. If he takes off the dispute, then you should be find but reguardless, KEEP THE MONEY TILL EVERYTHING'S SETTLED!

  10. This is why I dont like PayPal - its so easy for people to fuck you and freeze your cash. There really isn't a proper dispute & reconciliation system, its basically eBay's ridiculous system applied to money. Which is far more hazardous.

I try to take my money out as often as possible, but I dont know if PayPal can go into my bank account and take it back and shit.
