Thread: SHENMUE III MOSTLY FINISHED!!

  1. I can’t believe how much hate the Shenmue series is getting here. I remember back in the DC day everyone praise this game to no end, if you looks at the old top 10-20 games thread you will see Shenmue I/II in almost everyone list.

That say, I just can't wait for the final game of the series, this is a most have for me.

PArt of the problem is that it was directed under the supervision of someone who spoke very little english, who directed them to speak slow, over-pronounced, and exaggerated. Also game actors are rarely given any context for what they're reading and just read off a sheet.

  3. Well, that pretty much explains all of the dubbing problems. Thanks.

    The graphics lost their luster.

The environments still look great from an artistic standpoint though. I replayed Shenmue earlier this year and expected it to have aged but I still loved it and played all the way to the end again.

I understand why some people don't like it as it has plenty of things I think can be improved but for those of us who are big fans, it's more than just graphic detail that brings us into its world.

I know there are some who love it for what it is, but a lot of people got into it at first because it was amazing for the time. When the technologically advanced sheen wore off, so did many people's interest.
