    I said 3D 3D, as in polygonal. Those are 3D 2D games.

Whoa, way the hell off. More around '94/'95.

  4. Cybermorph came out when, 1994 or 1995?

Guardian War for the 3DO was a polygonal RPG, arguably another "go anywhere" game. It came out in 1994.

    No gnus is good gnus.

  5. Guardian War came out in '95, and wasn't "go anywhere"

You didn't actully go anywhere in Battlezone. The tanks were 3d but it was a 2d background that just scrolled. So no.

edit: I checked three diferent sites, and got three different North American release dates for GW. Allgameguide siad '95, moby says '94, and Gamefaqs says '93.
I think they would argue that in GW, you couldn't walk a staight line from a given point and eventually return to that point, whereas you could in Cybermorph (though you'd have to go around a mountain maybe).

How is that any different than the 2D sky texture in Cybermorph? The tanks, pyramids, ufos, cubes, and everything "interactable" was 3D. The sky was just cosmetic, same as it was in Cybermorph.

Also, since we're tossing out games that are pre-cybermorph, but obviously not the first, I'm going to say Alpha Waves. Or, shit, even the outdoor parts of Mean Streets. Or Echelon for that matter. Or any of like 1000 pc games from the early 90s

Oh yeah, Or on the console side, how about Vortex, Stunt Race FX, Star Wars Arcade, etc...

  7. i just copied what was posted to me when i replied battlezone.
sounds great to me, but to them it didn't fit.

i thought that there would be a thousand games myself, but no one seems to be able to come up with one.

Well it didn't fit, because they haven't played Battlezone in a long time and forgot that there are other things in the environment besides tanks.

I'm sure NeoZeedeater knows his old PC games better than I, but I know I saw plenty of polygonal games before that time. Shit, what about WingWar, or CyberSled, or any of the old early 90s 3D arcade games?

Echelon. Came out in 1987. There.

(Come to think of it, Under a Killing Moon had hir-res texture mapped explorable 3D environmnents and even that came out before CyberMorph
