Thread: Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins (PSP)

    Yeah, it's a UMD image.

People have had some nice things to say about the game so far. Supposedly hard as fuck. But, hey, they all are.
I took all your French Toast.

  2. The demo wasn't that hard.. people are just frustrated that they can't plow through the trial level like every other platformer. After a few tries yesterday, I beat the boss in all difficulty modes without losing any lives.

Also, the 30 fps rate is a problem only for those who whine about 60 fps in every game. The framerate doesn't affect the demo at all. Hopefully the entire game is as stable as the demo.

Naw, I'm talking about the entire spine, not a little tab.

Here, I grouped a lot of black/white PS2 cases together. I think it speaks for itself, especially with the stark juxtaposition of the the DS games on the left side.

How did you get it running? I tried and I kept getting a "currupt data" image on my memory stick. I'm going to download it from the other mirror today because maybe I got a beat d/l. Thanks for the help.

Eye of the beholder, I guess. The different logo designs ruin the uniformity in my view.

From what I can remember, the PSX/Dreamcast was an anamoly. And Dreamcast switched to black halfway through, which meant there was no uniformity. NES cases had no uniformity, SNES didn't, Saturn didn't, N64 didn't, Xbox didn't, GB didn't, PS2 didn't, Genesis didn't (mostly), etc. Master System did, I guess.

  8. Japanese Dreamcast cases were entirely uniform I suppose.. not only were the spines white with the orange logo, the titles on the spines all used the same plain black text font. Only games that strayed from the uniform were the DC DVD cases (Cosmic Smash, SGGG) and most of the 'posthumous' releases.

It does, but it still looks better than what we've got. The white BG ones especially.

SNES, Saturn, Sega CD, N64 (sort of), and Xbox Platinum Hits all have a standard BG for most titles. The variance in logo design doesn't make for the orderly look of PS1/DC games, yeah, but it still looks much nicer than the completely random smattering of colors today's cases use.

Shinkiro remains the only SNK staple that has unquestionably gotten better since the SNK bankrupcy.

EDIT: I never replied to this:
The spines are unified, in every region, with the PSP logo over a black bar.
That unified look is going to be changed a bit with the new Greatest Hits PSP cases, which have a red PSP logo bar, and a red "greatest hits" bar underneath it - these look much better than the PS2 GH oval.
