With exception to Wii, please. November is going to be fun.

Different internals. I can play Street Fighter on a Dual Shock. It's not pretty, but it works. Doesn't work on PSP--diagonals don't work, and it's not because of the disconnected surface. Just like your mother told you, it's what's on the inside that counts.

By the measure of "it looks just like a Dual Shock," the DS Lite d-pad should be every bit as good as the Game Boy Micro. But it's not.

  3. Played!

I couldn't wait till I got home, and fired it up on my break.

First impressions from a gamer not terribly familiar with the series (played through the Maximo offshoot, but never got far in any of the 2D installments due to lack of skills and patience):

This one is nowhere near as hard as any of the previous games. It's not easy by any means, and may become nothing short of brutal later on, but, in the beginning at least -- where the previous games were already tough as nails -- I find it very reasonable. The respawn and continue system is downright generous. I've already saved and can now start and continue from that point forever, never having to replay the first half of the first level if I don't want to (though I almost certainly will to look for secret stuff).

Graphics are sumptuous, but, yes, as others have noted, a tad on the dark side (again, this is just what I've seen in the first level, and a very minor issue regardless). Music is great, makes me want to go back and play the rest of the series. Polish (my favorite thing -- generous coats of sparkling sheen can make even an average game shine like a diamond) is abundant throughout.

Fun factor is through the roof! Slogging through the drudgery that is Legend of Heroes the last few weeks, I'd forgotten what it was like to have a gay old time with my PSP.

Again, I've barely played it fifteen minutes, but am extremely pleased so far. Looking forward to chipping away some more this weekend.

Ill never have gay time with my PSP. We have a bit of an understanding that it'll never come to that.

  5. I haven't looked in here for a while, but I'm kind of surprised about whether there's debate on UG&G kicking ass or not. It does. Hard. Anyone who's ever liked the previous games would be very happy with this one.

I never once had a problem with the PSP controls with this, so that shouldn't be an issue. It did what I told it, when I told it, so they're not really an issue.

  6. Agreed. PSP controls are fine. In fact, this game controls better than all previous installments from what I remember.

  7. Its good. Like I knew it would be. I might even go so far as to say it may be the best one yet.

The difficulty doesnt seem too bad . A lot of cheap enemy placement and respawns, and picking up the wrong weapon (because it seems like their are new weapons lying around all the fucking time) can be a bitch, but those were minor hang-ups that can be worked around with a little more playtime under ones belt.

Basically, Jeremy Parish can eat a big fat dick.

    Word life.

btw, who changed the thread title. A thread not involving bitches is not a thread worth having.

oh, and thank God for the switch back to the blue, I was going blind with the other configuration.

who doesn't? damn near every thread here consisits of people majorly gushing about a game and then when the first few reviews come out, and are bad, everyone jumps on it instantly assuming that it must suck after all those months of hype.

Who fucking cares. Its that noobs loss. I dont want those shitheads to touch my Ghouls and Ghosts games anyways. They arent worthy.
not the point. my original point was that Capcom could release this game at $40 because the same amount of people would buy it at that price as would if it were $20. Maybe more would buy it at $20, but not enough to outweigh the $$$ made buy just selling it to the smaller audience at $40.

anyhow, anyone know if this requires a higher than 2.71 firmware?

I agree with Mark that the PSP dpad is a LOT different than the dual-shock. They don't pack in d-pad attachments for no reason.
I took all your French Toast.
