Frown I just watched Deer Hunter and I cried like a bitch

    DISCLAIMER: PLEASE MARK ALL SPOILERS

So I finished watching Deer Hunter and yeah the ending was really sad. I could've choked back those tears but I was alone and just felt like letting loose anyway. Man, what a powerful scene. Top 5 war movie for reals.

I talked to my dad about it and he said he didn't cry but he did mention that The Killing Fields turned his water works on. I haven't seen it yet so I'll just check it out ASAP.

Any other movies that made your tears flow? I know E.T. got me and the end of Pokemon: the movie (all those crying pokemon ). Again, please mark all spoilers.

  2. Nice timing on this thread because I just watched the first 10 minutes of Grave of the Fireflies this afternoon and the tears began to roll down my cheek. I wasn't in any mood to cry so I had to stop it.

This weak attempt would have been my third viewing.

Setsuko is so damn cute and acts so much like a real four year-old, that she reminded me of my own little sister when she was around the same age, complete with the bowl haircut and all.

It just gets to me every got damn time.

  3. I get teary-eyed near the end of American Beauty, after the first time and I knew how it all played out. The setup and build up of the situation makes me so sad.

Moulin Rouge also makes me the same way, though I can't think of the last movie that made me actually cry.

  4. Nothing makes me cry anymore, maybe I should test it with some sad movies but I doubt it.

yeah they did. Though I can't say I ever cried though. The end of Saving Private Ryan almost got me too. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head though.

  7. When I was younger I cried at the end of My Girl. I was like 10 though. Bambi always got me sometimes too. Grave of the Fireflies is another one that's a shoe-in for it. Anything involving unnatural cruelty to children usually gets me.

  8. Lion King, When Mufasa dies.

  9. "Crash" made me cry. :<

This'll sound stupid, I know, but the ending to Grumpy Old Men 2(or maybe it was 3) was the first movie to make me tear up just a bit when the dad dies while fishing.. Again, stupid, I know. And I recently got a little emotional from watching Disney's Aladin for the first time in years, but no water works.
