And Rent-A-Hero No. 1. I could see them doing something like that once the initial print runs are done.

No you don't. All they did was slap some Nights textures on a 3D character. Playing as NIGHTS won't make the game any less shitty. Don't justify a purchase (or even rental) just because Sega is raping what's left of your positive Sega nostalgia.Originally Posted by Jeremy

Judging by the PS2 demo the game isn't shitty, it's around a 7/10 which is disappointing for a Sonic game. Yeah, I know I shouldn't be surpised based on recent Sonic games but Billy Hatcher was really good so I figured there was some hope for another Sonic Team game.
Exactly. This should strengthen your resolve to let it languish in hell where it belongs, not weaken it.Originally Posted by Cowdisease

Hey, this is a decent rental. Try it out. You won't like it at first, though. We are playing the xbox version and I don't think it's as impressive as the GCN F-Zero GX game, but still not "bad" looking. At least its 60fps.
What is cool are two unlockable final levels in which you race though a bunch of Sega themes! Sega Carnival and Sega Illusion are the names.
The ones I noticed are NiGHTS, Fantasy Zone, Billy Hatcher, Space Channel 5, Super Monkey Ball, and another musical game which I think is that DC monkey shake-things game. I noticed one 'move' is called Blue Blue Sky, too.
The Strong/Fly/Speed thing from Sonic Heroes is back, which means each character can take his own shortcut.
Actually, a 7/10 is kinda the high-water mark for a Sonic game nowadays.Originally Posted by NeoZeedeater

The game is a testimony to the fact that Sonic Team has no idea what the hell it's doing anymore.
Track design is A-FUCKING-TROCIOUS, the controls are way too loose and the game just feels BLAH!
Avoid this thing.
It seems like Sega is trying to flood the market with products at the expense of proper development cycles. I doubt they're making very much money with this approach, and they're killing off whatever prestige their brand name had left. Old Yeller style.
