I thought Dogma was good (teh shit demon!!). That should have been it for J&B, but Smith really blew it with that last one.

Dogma was really, really uneven, but when it works, it's great.
J&SBSB was... well, I've seen less funny comedies, but I can't say I've seen a more pointless one. The movie just exists to remind you of how good the other movies are.
It made me laugh.Originally Posted by diffusionx

Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back would have been much better without the "plot" they threw in there, but it still had many funny moments. Clerks was (and is) constantly funny, as was the cartoon. Chasing Amy was probably his deepest flick, although I haven't seen Jersey Girl yet. Mallrats was enjoyable thanks to Jason Lee, and that's about it. I'm hoping they do something worthy of the Clerks name with this sequel. Nothing they've done with these characters since the movie has failed, so I think it'll be fine.

The best part of Jay and Silent Bob Strike back are the Chris Rock parts with Jamie Kennedy.
"It must hurt don't it? To get a nigga his cawfee?"
I liked everything except Chasing Amy (aside from the J&SB parts). I have no plans on seeing Jersey Girl. Mallrats is my favorite.
I pretty much agree with this.Originally Posted by Mike

Chasing Amy had some clever dialogue, but the film's message, if you want to call it that, was just preachy and wrong.
It seemed like Smith wrote it that way specifically to appeal to women, which wouldn't surprise me since he kisses so much ass in general.
Mallrats was the best.
Kevin Smith's time has come and passed. His movies have become even more disjointed and uneven in each successive attempt. He isn't really capable of doing anything better than Clerks or Mallrats, imo.
