    Thumbs Up Threshold

If you missed the two hour premier of Threshold, find a way to watch it. This is the early leader for best new show this season. It's on CBS, and it is about a woman whose job it is to write contingency plans for worst case scenarios for the US government. One of her plans, "Threshold", has to be put in motion in the first episode. I'm trying not to spoil anything, but go check it out.

  2. I watched it. A lot of things in the show were corny, but it was a fun ripping time and I'd probably want to catch it again. Just beware that it's not exactly the smartest show on television.

Smart shows aren't allowed on TV anymore. The average American is too fucknig stupid to understand them.

    I like CSI.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  5. Since it is a broadcast TV show, and the legality of it all is still grey instead of black, I'll say that I'm downloading the show now just because you said it is good. If it sucks, I'll curse you for wasting my bandwidth.

It sounds like the kind of show I could get into, though, so we'll see.
WARNING: This post may contain violent and disturbing images.

  6. Here's a reason it's a bit dumb:

Okay, so aliens make first contact and show themselves to be somewhat unfriendly. The most important team and taskforce in the entire world, irreplaceable, is dropped right in to the hot zone without even a moment of dialogue concerning safety issues of doing so.

"You're the most important woman on the planet." - Cavanaugh.

I wonder why they would allow the most valuable woman on the face of the Earth to land in a hot zone with an unknown alien. Now there was a timeline, since Korean (dum dum DUM!!!) warships were approaching to 'check out' what was going down and, presumably, a squad ahead of them to secure the boat. But is it really that much to ask for one moment of dialogue with the big black dude about safety concerns for his elite red squad team?

I like the show. It reminds me of a cross between Alias and Stargate SG-1. It's not as glitzy as Alias and not as smart as SG-1. Is there room for a show in the middle ground? I'll give it time to answer.

  7. Threshold is going to go down as the first show on CBS that I've actually watched in over a decade. I enjoyed the pilot, I didn't think it was as amazing or anything, but it was fun.

  8. CSI: The Moon

and I'm really not feeling that big old "EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BRANNON BRAGA" at the end of it, he ruined star trek goddamnit and he's gonna ruin this. JUST YOU WATCH, the mysterious aliens will be time-travelling borgs.

Star Trek was still-born. Gene Rodenberry, or however you spell his useless name, ruined it.

  10. I'll give this show one more shot, but it kind of sucked. Especially compared to Invasion.
