    They don't look good.

  2. Both the Nintendogs and Mario Kart bundles are excellent deals, 149.99 + new game is a bargain, these are gonna make bank. And I kinda like the decals, they have a cheesy yet fun "Hotwheels" look to 'em.

Just one more month or so and online Mario Kart then wifi AC the next, the wait is killing me. I wanna throw homing shells and dig up yards of people I don't know sooo bad....

    Thanks.
When this happens, i will flip out and start killing, until i have both in my possession. Seriously, i need to set aside about $400 for when it happens.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think Chux is right on the money

Nintendo is really doing a great job with the DS and Sony hasn't done a thing to fire back yet, I figured there would be a "core" PSP package for $200 by now. This holiday season Nintendo's going to flood the world with the DS, third parties are jumping all over it and will do so even more when the market penetration gets crazy, can Sony afford to just sit on their hands? Do you think they've got something in mind or are they just being arrogant/stupid?

  5. No! Nintendo's sitting on Nintendogs and Sony's going to win the market, remember?
    Donk

  6. Once the current gen consoles have run their course, then the PSP will become a more attractive platform for third parties.
As of right now, there's little reason for developers to invest in PSP development when they could make the same game for PS2, for the same cost, and make a boatload more money.

  7. Kedawa: With PS3 being backward compatible, and seeing how long PS1 received support after PS2 hit, don't you think there's a big chance nobody will care about the PSP by the time PS2 fades away? In a year if PSP's biggest releases are still firmware upgrades I think the DS will have a stranglehold on the market and Sony's reputation as a handheld manufacturer will be tarnished.

  8. Most people who get PS3s won't even touch PS2 games, and the PSP installed base is steadily growing.
There's always a market for portable games, so I don't think companies will just write off the PSP.

  9. Even if DS games are much cheaper to develop and sell a lot more, with a larger installed base?

  10. While I love my new DS, and though it seems to have better games and more gaming potential, I can't help but think that in some way this'll end up like the Dreamcast. Granted, Nintendo isn't in the same situation Sega is in financially, but I remember the first year the PS2 was out, the Dreamcast had killer games and critical support. That didn't stop sales of the PS2, nor those same critics saying "The PS2 will eventually get better games".

Again, I realize this isn't a 100% accurate analogy, but there are enough similarities to warrant worry.
