Thread: Pics of our new game room

  1. #61
    Buy mine.

  2. Ive known Port for years, (actually the one who showed him TNL ) , he is quite the good and thrifty spender. Our collections were on par until he went and found a woman who had almost as much as he did, so with their combined forces I cant keep up

Actually both Portnoyd and myself put together and determine prices/rarity (depending on market conditions and other criteria) for the SNES and NES sections of the Digital Press collectors guide. Meaning we are the authors of those sections

Collections like these dont happen overnight, its not like a Morphix who could go buy the entire room just for the hell of it and then be done with it the next day. Its about the hobby and consistently growing over time. You really have to care about what you are doing for a sustained period of time, not just an overnight fling.

You dont have to have lots of money all at once, or even over time as long as you collect smart, same goes for anything

BTW Port, nice wall shelves, wonder where Ive seen those before

We rent for the time being, and we will buy, just some things which will remain nameless on a public board have to happen first, not to mention I don't trust the housing market right now, especially in overbloating northern NJ... but the point is, I have something to show for it, that I love, can share with my GF, and so on. Not to say what my friend is doing is even remotely stupid, but how I feel is that I want my money spent to show something. In the end, both me and my friend will have mortgage payments for a long time, so ... yeah.
I've never seen this argument from that perspective. Interesting.

Everything is insured fully, and we have a good burglar/fire alarm system. We're too paranoid!
Smart man. Smart, smart man. How much are you insured for on that stuff?

  9. The excuses for the TV being small aren't valid. No room? Then sell some of that crap, and you'll have the room and the money.

I have a TV that size, but I don't have people over to play games together on it.
