No, it really isn't dumb, since as a gameplay feature it is extremely balanced and fun. And having put just a little time into the game would let you know that it's much easier to get a headshot, or even 4 in a row, then it is to get close to a person from behind and beat them in the back of the head.
Just because something is nonsensical does not mean it won't work well in gameplay.
I agree, but while Unreal did have that "limp weapon feel", the gameplay more then made up for it with its depth. And for the most part I wasn't overly impressed with HL2's weapons, though I did play it on Xbox. Once I get some extra cash I'm going to pick it up for PC with Episode 1 and give it another spin since I feel the main reason I wasn't truely impressed with it was because I played it on Xbox, where it ran like shit.

LOL Prey MP was worthless. There's almost nothing good about it. The levels looked cool but lacked flow. The weapons stunk. Comparing them to Quake is an insult to Quake. I'll definitely agree that H2's is overrated, but I'd much rather play that. Single player, though, is a different story. Even the lame weapons in Prey couldn't make that a bad game. It was awesome.

I thought the portal shit created a really excellent flow, personally. Always a way to get around. It was different than the norm, but it really worked for me.
I'm not going to front like Prey was a well rounded multiplayer package. It really wasn't. But it did have some really cool multiplayer level design that worked really well with the relatively low player count it supported. It's more than it gets credit for, and I end up having a better time with it despite its flaws than I do with Halo for all of it's lush assortment of trimmings. I'll take some overcooked steak over well-dressed dogshit any day.
I agree with Dragonmaster. Also, I fucking hate streetfighter because how can you jump that high in real life? How fake!
You can say what you'd like, but really even just Halo's deathmatch (Halo 1 and 2) has far more balance and strategy in it then Prey could ever dream to have. Prey did have some awesome levels, but that doesn't make up for the same old "shoot to kill, get health packs" gameplay. It's a slight revision on a 10 year old formula in a game that is only just above average.

Prey sucks ass online plain and simple. The weapons are boring as hell. As for a game with the coolest "feeling weapons", I would have to say Rainbow Six 3 is by far the most perfect feeling shooter. The guns just felt totally perfect when you shot them.
