I'm getting this over Castlevania - I'm so sick of the whole metroidvania thing.

It looks cool, I'll probably get it eventually, but, you know... priorities.
I can never get sick of Metroidvania!! When I buy my DS which is soon since Castlevania is out I'll probably pick up this Meteos Nanostray and Wario.Originally Posted by K3V
The DS is on a serious fucking rampage of great gaming. It has the most original games I've played in years. I was going to pick up both Trauma Center and CV today but I'm enjoying Lost in Blue SOOOOO much that I think I'm going to wait and get my woman to buy it for my B day late next month. I'm really glad I got the DS. I'm in the camp of "the only non DS game I'm getting is Shadow of the Colossus for PS2".
Christ, I know it's been said before, but DS has too many good games right now. I'm still not even up to date on the ones that were out before. Phoenix Wright soon too. I have no idea where I'm going to find the time or money for half of these games.
What I need is a single game where you're trapped on an island which you can only survive on by destroying planets, which can only be done by performing surgery on people. You also travel on a rainbow while screaming "OBJECTION!" at puppies. Then and only then will I be content.
Don't forget that you need to capture the puppies' souls to build new units.Originally Posted by Grave
And all this BEFORE Mario Kart and Animal Crossing with free online play next month
Anyone have any impressions on Trauma Center?
It's neat. Only did the first two levels, but I can see it getting more complex and even better. The stylus control is spot on. I'd recommend it based on what little I've seen.Originally Posted by SpoDaddy
It's like photoshop on 'roids w/ a 5-minute timer. The reviews in EGM and at got-next did an excellent job describing the experience. You could probably find worse games on the DS, so get it if you're interested. Overall, it's neat & original.Originally Posted by SpoDaddy

I think that the difficulty forces you to really concentrate. Here's the deal for those who haven't got it yet:
You start off doing minor surgery, things that only require a couple of steps and you'll only be using 3 or so instruments. By the 4th or 5th surgery the number of things you have to do increases a LOT. Not only do you need to remember every step of the surgery, you need to remember what order to do them in and what instrument to use. Then you have to be precise. Really precise to a) get the objective done and then b) to get a good score. On top of all that, you've got to remember to monitor your patient's vitals, so that if they dip you need to inject them with the correct serum to bring them back up. And you have to do all of this within the time limit. This is good stuff. It puts a lot of pressure on you to perform well, and that's, like, the whole point. Beyond that, the hospital "story" is really amusing in a soap opera like way.
