Also, it is amazing how you can look at the graphics of an Atari game, and know who the company is. I saw that screenshot, and knew right away it was an Imagic game.

    19. Dragonfire (Atari 2600)

I bought Dragon Wars, thinking it would be another great RGP from Interplay. I thought the game would be very simular to The Bard's Tale series, but was somewhat disappointed in the title. Perhaps I set my expectations too high.

I was thinking it (19) was an Imagic title as well, but some of the later Atari produced titles looked on par with Imagic's output. I still think it's in the Sword Quest series, because of the 2 numbers at the bottom [0,0], that would indicate the next clue to look up. But, 0,0 couldn't exist as a clue. I haven't played the game in over 20 years, so it most likely is Sword Quest. I've never heard of Dragonfire.

  2. That 00 is your score.

Very simple game, only two screens. The first one you cross a bridge and dodge missle (dragonfire) being hurled at you. The second one you are inside the castle and are trying to collect treasure, while the dragon is firing at you. Then it cycles back to the first screen, and gets a bit harder.

I can't look up the picture at work, but I remember seeing the commercial for this game, now that you've described it. The first screen has you jumping fireballs, as you cross a draw bridge entering the castle. They never showed the other screen on the commercial, which is the one we see posted here correct?

  9. 14 - I'm going to guess this is either Godzilla (He's a lizard though) or Adventure II for the 2600.
