Thread: The iPod Video

  1. #31
    I'm sold...

  2. I've waited a long time for this to come out.

Now, I'll finally buy an iPod.
Currently playing: Binary Domain (PC), EVE Online: Retribution (PC), Guild Wars 2 (PC)

Its a good thing Best Buy lost my ipod that I took in for service.

Perhaps I'll be able to get one of these instead.

  4. Ok, everything I read and saw on the videos was wrong: they are 320x240. I downloaded an episode of Lost last night because I'm behind on the show. You CAN watch it in full screen, but then you get these awful pixel tears and obviously the quality goes way down. I don't see why Apple doesn't just use a larger size when downloading that gets scaled down on the iPod, or at least gives you the option for the 320x240 size and a larger, more computer friendly size (especially since it would go so well with Front Row).

Also, the video player sucks in full screen. If you try to fast forward or rewind, the video stops and goes away so you have to open it again (it starts where you pressed forward/back). Also, there is no clock to see how long you've been watching it. You have to pause it, which also closes the full screen window, and look at the main iTunes window. These aren't huge problems, but they're inconvenient. The video screen also looks a lot like WMP for Macs, which is ugly. Hopefully Apple will make a sleeker video player inside iTunes soon.

  5. Seriously, where have you been all my iLife? I'm going to buy two of them. One I'll use, and the other I'll keep in a hermetically sealed display case right next to my autographed picture of Mr. Jobs. What will they think of next? Maybe one with a video recorder, or one that lets you download your programs from your Tivo? Apple, you're the GREATEST!!!!!

    Try this instead.

  6. What does this offer that the Lyra hasn't for years?

  7. I think apple are going to pull this one off quite well. I foresee the users to be of the female sex.

  8. How open is this. if I have to get the video through Itunes then fuck it.

However if it can take my fansubs and other ...mysteriously obtained videos I get off the net then fuck yeah I'm getting it.

I just realized this is the first time since I can remember that a video game or console is not #1 on my christmas wish list.

I doubt that would work, or else every owner of an ipod would be trying to break theirs right now.

This is pretty neat but you know that in like two weeks time a better version of the Nano will be released, and then a month later a new ipod will be released. Then you'll all be just as pissed as those who now own a 4th gen ipod are now.

I bought my shit a thousand years ago, returned it for repairs under my best buy extended warranty and they lost it. They have to give me something, and I'd be willing to bet its not going to be another 2nd gen 40 gig ipod.
