I get off of work tonight at 12:30am and there is a 24 hour Wal-Mart down the street from here. I think I may have to go by there and see if they have it and, if they do, just put my $5 reserve at Gamestop towards Animal Crossing. I just don't want Gamestop to get high and mighty and not sell the game intill, like, 3pm when I have to be on my way to work which is in the other freaking direction. Man, Mario Kart can't get here fast enough! I haven't been this hyped for a game since... jesus... I dunno... Smash on Gamecube? Good times.

I wouldn't normally do this, but Tuesday is the one day shift I have (waaaay busy and much more annoying customers than on my evening shifts) and I don't feel like taking an hour lunch break just to play the game only to have my MK mojo killed by idiot customers. Plus, if I get it tonight I can come back to the office and test it with our hotspot here to see if it's compatible (it is a major inconvenience having to order the usb plug from the website in the meantime)

edit: And FWIW, a few weeks ago I was able to buy PSP Battlefront the night before. Only hitch was I had to have the stock lady take it out of the box, but timing was good since she was right in front of the PSP case. If I must, I will hunt down the stock people tonight to see if they have it

  3. I checked my Wal-Mart to no success but, to be honest, I didn't ask anyone either since they all had this "What the fuck are you looking at?" expersion on their face and I didn't feel like speaking to anyone.
Hopefully Gamestop has it by, like, 11 or 12 this morning.

I just went there and asked. Guy was nice and said it'd be coming UPS sometime tomorrow afternoon. Bah. *goes to bed*

Truth. One of the girls that plays with us is an adorable, small, asian girl who repeats every voice over right after it's said in-game. Sounds like it'd be annnoying but i's actually quite cute.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

Same here, just got back about 30 minutes ago and it was a bust. I knew I was out of luck when I saw endless stacks of new stock boxes with only one guy (a really dumb lazy guy I have seen many times) verrrrry slowly opening them and they were boxes for the dept next door from electronics.

So I started sorting through the new boxes in the electronics section "Gently peels corner back 'Nope, that's definitley the Sound of Music, nope that is definitely Madagascar, not Mario Kart" and so on. The guy looked at me as I investigated them and I gave him a look which said "You're lazy, bite me." Almost all the other boxes either were taped up really good and had no tangible return label or were for Universal media, Sony, blah blah."

After that I tried out the Kameo and Kong 360 demos which were pretty fun (new 360 pad kicks) and on my way out I heard a guy ask dumb stock man "Do you know if Lethal Weapon full screen is in any of those boxes?" Dumb lazy stock guy: "Duhhhh, nope I think all those movies are widescreen." Then I knew it was time to go home.

Oh well, I still have it reserved at EB. But I will be really angry if they don't have it in tomorrow.

    Haha. That is cute.

My sister though is the MK champ and unquestioned Dr. Mario expert (she recently geeked out when she saw Dr. Mario on my PSP Nester and then scooped the PSP outta my hand and proceeded to show off, beating the final level on the highest speed setting with viruses stacked all the way to the top, ha). She would have buried her friend who I was speaking about earlier. edit: I still need to get my sis to try a Bomberman game, I bet she would smoke at that.

  7. I will be taking my DS to work with me tomorrow, and UPS better not be late or I swear to Moses I'll be rude to every fucker who bitches about it not being here yet.
    All is well.

  8. After all the times I've been burned looking for games and sales in vain, I treated myself to skipping that today. Tommorow, however, I scour the earth for Mario Kart. Hopefully it'll be reaching Connecticut by then.

  9. Nintendo uses UPS to ship their games? Great.

In the meantime, check out this great new TV ad for the game which asks the question "What if you could effect a Nascar race by throwing things at the TV?" :lol This ad is seriously right up there with the cream of the old 90s Genesis commercials, download/stream here:
