Thread: Mario Kart DS

  1. Just played a 4 track 1 on 1 match with someone playing as Peach, total newbie. I was playing as Wario and I would either just catch up and push her aside or, I kept getting shells and would deviously allow her to get a bit ahead then smack her. Kart trophy +1

  2. Okay, so, why couldn't we have gotten a Mario Kart this awesome on the Gamecube?

Eh. No matter. This is the best of the series and playing online is braindead easy (I didn't have any lag or connection issues, either). It's easier to see what Nintendo's going for with their online plans now, and I can't say it's a bad idea.

Now I just want an online F-Zero for the DS. Pretty please, Nintendo?

    Now that would be wicked...

  4. I got the game today and finished everything in 50cc. I traded in two crap games and got it for $10. Seeing the retro grand prix was a nice suprise. I didnt read much about this game till seeing the good reviews last night. Probably shouldnt have bought it but what the hell, hopefully I'll have 5 other games to play later this week
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"

  5. This game is worth it just for the online play. Everything else is gravy.

  6. Picked this up at an EB today after an amazing dinner with my g/f at this quaint little BBQ/Mexican restaurant, the clerk said "let me guess, Mario Kart?" the second I walked in. I only got to play for about an hour but I'm blown away, dare I say it, this is one of the greatest games ever made!

I was pretty surprised at how much better it is than the shitty GC game.

My only complaint is that constantly holding a face button and tapping the R button eventually turns my hand into a Claw of Pain, but that's more a DS ergonomics problem than a MK one.

    I like the F-Zero GX-like mission mode.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

Yeah, my thumb was killing me after a few races.

  9. I'm still on the fence about this. I don't know if I'm really into playing another Mario Kart game, and I was thinking the online play would push me over the edge, but that doesn't sound very impressive.. Is the game a worthy successor to Super Mario Kart? Double Dash can eat a bag of dicks.

Uh.. so it's good? From what's posted above, it doesn't really sound very good at all. I'm really astounded that the game has no form of comunication, let alone all of the online restrictions. I though Nintendo Wi-Fi was going to be XBL-ish. Hell, Socom for the PSP, which was also just released, supports 16 player voice chat, on top of all of the other buddylists, server browsers, and other online features.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.
