I agree with Yoshi, this post is better than the X360 launch. Good too, because I'm too lazy to actually read and determine what the real launch titles are.
Which should show what my position is. My GF reserved one, half because the system is launching, half for FFXI, which apparently, isn't making launch. So the system will just sit there. Oh well. Maybe I'll dust off the Gamefly sub and revive it just to use the system, but there are no games I will actually buy, esp. at $60.
I'll probably want to try Kameo and NFS:Most Wanted, and that would be about it. I would probably buy Oblivion, but I didn't play Morrowind (solely because I couldn't the GOTY edition as cheap as I wanted), and I'd probably be missing a lot by not playing it before Oblivion. Does anyone think I wouldn't be lost playing Oblivion this way? Or should I just spend the time and money and play through Morrowind?
If I cared about Gran Turismo style racing, I'd probably at least try PGR3.
Everything else is a pass. Condemned was a cure for insomnia at E3. Gun.. if they couldn't invest the time to come up with a better name, why should I bother? Finally, if I want a FPS, I'll go on my PC and I'll pass on sports games, kthx.

I said it in the Ipod Video thread and I'll say it here.
First time in a long time Video games are not #1 for my christmas wish. The 360 is a big reason why.
Uh, did I miss something, or do you just not know the series? Are you thinking of Forza maybe? Serious question.Originally Posted by portnoyd
Changing the way PGR plays short of fixing the wall shit from PGR2 would be a terrible idea. PGR2 is the best racing game ever that is not called "R4" or "Ridge Racer V." Far more entertaining than any GT game ever was or ever will be.
Maybe the redundency is confusing you.Originally Posted by Master

Honestly, I've never played either series. Driving games aren't my thing unless you're blowing something or smashing the shit out of something. I just don't know the series. I've always related the two for some reason, hence my comment.Originally Posted by Grave
I could have sworn I read/watched an interview on Oblivion the other night and the developer guy said it will indeed be a day one launch title. But anyways I personally think 360 has a really strong launch. Better than any launch ever in fact. But to each his own.

I think the real question is, how long until the 360 is cracked?
Morrowind is a great game, but playing it is not a prerequisite for enjoying Oblivion (just like playing Arena or Daggerfall weren't a prerequisite for Morrowind). While all of the games take place in the same world, they take place at different time and in totally different locations. The stories aren't really tied to one another. If you want to save yourself $460 this year, just get the GOTY Morrowind for PC or Xbox.Originally Posted by portnoyd
And compared to any system launch since the Dreamcast, the 360 has a great looking line up. It's not like the PS2 launched with Devil May Cry, MGS 2, Final Fantasy X and such.
