Have you played the Wonder Boy/Monster World series?

  2. Battle of Olympus was great. We need an update in fact. Walking upside down with those special boots... quite cool.

I have not. I was referring to just the NES games like that (there's another one just like those I played but can't remember the name), I've never played a Master System and only touched a TG-16 once so any games on those I have no clue about.

  4. Monster Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap = epic platformer-RPG, it's Master System gravy in a cart. Right up there with Alex Kidd. WB in Monster Land is good but is too frustrating since there is no save feature. I also have Dynastic Hero for the Turbo Duo which is ace. One of these days I will hunt down copies of Monsterworld and if I'm lucky, MW VI (one with the female lead).

    Faxanadu maybe.

That cannot be possible. I beat the game, and there's no way I did it in one setting, because I remember that game being huge.

Either way, the two Monster World titles for Genesis absolutely rock.

...yup, knew I was right. This is from a comment about the Monster World 3 port to the Master System.

The save feature is also gone, replaced with some very long passwords.

Wonder Boy in Monster Land has no password or save feature. It's a linear game and divided into levels. It's not as long as its sequels either.

That quote is referring to Master System port of the first Genesis game which happens to be the fourth WB game on SMS. Dylan is talking about the second game in the series. Confusing enough?

Right, ML 3 Dragon's Trap has a password save feature, I was playing it just last month in fact. and have a few passwords taped up on my dresser. I was talking about the first Monster Land game.

  9. Was Dragon's Curse for TG16 a Wonderboy game? I loved that game.

Yes, it's a port of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap but with different characters.
