I've read the game is really easy. Not that that is a bad thing...Yoshi's Island is pretty easy.

Neo, how's the difficulty? Are there any other good platformers to look out for?

It's on the easy side but not really any moreso than the 2d Mario games. You still have to do a lot of exploring in the levels to find all the captured Toads. Plus, there are touch screen/mic mini games to unlock. I haven't played those much yet but they seem pretty cool.

As for other platformers on the DS, Kirby Canvas Curse is good. It looks like a traditional Kirby game but plays a lot different since it's all touchscreen and you draw lines for Kirby to move on. There's also Sonic Rush which I haven't played yet.

Is the game more linear like Mario 3 and SMW or is it kinda like Yoshi's Story where you have to find hidden paths to get to half of the levels? I never played half that game cuz I lost interest in it and didn't bother to find so many of the levels. Please tell me it plays through more like the older Mario games.

I barely remember Yoshi's Story now from when I rented that very disappointing game so I would say SPP is closest to Yoshi's Island in structure, i.e. levels aren't as quick and linear as most of SMB3/SMW's. They're not confusing to go through from start to finish but to unlock everything you'll have to search around.

I'm going to buy the DS/Mario Kart bundle on Nov 28th. I REALLY want to play Kart online. But this is the game that is sealing the deal for me. From the videos I've seen, it looks like a cartoon. A platformer cartoon...brilliant!
And I could care less about the girly aspect of this game, it is the platformer I've been waiting years for!

I like how everyone has a DS but no one has this game. Maybe after the new Mario comes out I'll get one with both games.

It's not out in the States yet, is it? It's pointless to import something like this when you can just wait a bit and get the US version.

Does anyone know how to fill out the enemy encyclopedia? I've finished the gane once and working on the extra stages now, I know I've encountered enemies like bloopers, crying dry bones, and those green fish with goggles but they don't show up in the encyclopedia for some reason.

I am playing Mario Kart DS and FFIV GBA these days. Eagerly awaiting Peach and the New Mario Bros. I won't import, though. I'm surprised people are more interested in Peach than New Mario. But then I was never a huge Yossy (er, Yoshi's) Island fan.

Some of the enemies you just have to encounter, some you have to defeat before they'll appear in the book. You can "shoot" in the submarine stages by using the mic btw

Enemy #79 takes a bit of work to get, as it only appears in a few stages, and only shows up every now and then.
