Thread: The Taco Bell Dana Carvey Show

  1. The Taco Bell Dana Carvey Show

Remember this show? I made it a point to watch it every time it was aired... all three times. The merciless pounding of sponsors got it yanked off the air with a quickness. Episodes have to be out there somewhere. Any thoughts?

Particularly great was Bill Clinton breastfeeding 6 puppies at once.

  2. I thought it was the Mug Root Beer Dana Carvey Show? I swear I remember a dancing mug during his opening monologue.
    Dana Carvey, not funny.

  3. It lasted 7 episodes, and went by 7 different names.

    # 1- 1 12 Mar 96 The Taco Bell Dana Carvey Show
    # 1- 2 19 Mar 96 The Mug Root Beer Dana Carvey Show
    # 1- 3 26 Mar 96 The Mountain Dew Dana Carvey Show
    # 1- 4 2 Apr 96 The Diet Mug Root Beer Dana Carvey Show
    # 1- 5 9 Apr 96 The Dana Carvey Show (sponsored by Pepsi)
    # 1- 6 23 Apr 96 The Szechuan Dynasty Dana Carvey Show
    # 1- 7 30 Apr 96 The Dana Carvey Show

It was fucking hilarious. Steve Carrell and Stephen Colbert both started on the show as well. This needs to come out on DVD.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  4. I also enjoyed this show much and would like to see it again.

  5. There's gotta be tapes somewhere.

  6. RESURRECTION

Joost is streaming all 8 (yes, eight) episodes right now, actually.

But I can't get it to work. I'll find another way...

  7. I remember when he kept going places like the grocery store or drive thru and paying for all his items then running away like he played some practical joke. That was good stuff.

Funny how nobody noticed before now.

Apparently, the show has some pedigree. I used to love it when I was younger. The Clinton stuff was brilliant.
