Didn't find an updated thread about the movie but I saw it tonight and it fucking rocked.... rocked hard.
So many funny moments in the movie, it is like an extended version of the HBO show (whic imo, is a great thing). If you are a fan of the D, you have to go see it. Opening scene is great.

My socks were rocked off from the opening scene, no before that, the THC test that went up before the flick. It is impossible to be a fan of the D and not dig this film.
I will be seeing it again sometime next week.

Are you guys serious? I'm a big D fan (loved the HBO series and their album), but this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in a theater.
The John K. intro was nicely animated, but it wasn't funny. The movie was about 1 hour 40 minutes, but it felt a lot longer. Lots of dead spots, the songs weren't as good as their previous efforts, and the trippy Sasquatch sketch was absolutely lame. I laughed here and there and I caught all the references to their album (Lee, cock pushups, the showdown with the devil, etc), but it just wasn't good. And WTF at the Tim Robbins appearance.
Andy Dick was correct to compare this to Tommy, because that was shitty as well. After the movie ended, I looked at my friends and told them "Pootie Tang 2006".
