When I first bought my DS, I planned on using it for trips and whatnot.
Now I play it as much as any other console while I'm at home, and never take it anywhere.
If all you need is emulators, get a GP2X, not a PSP.
Yes, you can play shittily emulated GBA roms on your PSP when running outdated firmware that prevents you from playing new PSP game (In other words, GTA).

Same here Kedawa, I'm playing Advance Wars Dual Strike as I'm typing this post

Ok, on November 14th the DS will have the greatest online play system in the history of videogames, better?
You can't play your PSP online while sitting in a booth at McD's covered with ketchup thanks to the 4 year old shithead who sat there before you flinging his fries all over the place because his airhead mom wouldn't let him play on the shit-covered playscape.
I sure hope this isn't truly indicative of the purported "greatest" online play system.Originally Posted by SpoDaddy

Seriously, I fail to see how Nintendo's crippl...I mean "sanitized" approach to online gaming on the DS could be considered better than the PSP's method of online play. On the other hand, evidence is mounting that it will likely be far worse:
- Having to recreate your online game connection every time you buy (or borrow, or rent) a DS cartridge, rather than only creating it once and storing the settings on the Memory Stick in the system like on PSP.
- No ability to meet and add new "buddies" to your buddy list unless you happen to know them in real life and exchange a cumbersome 12-digit passcode that is tied to the game cartridge rather than to a central buddy list.
- No truly centralized singular buddy list shared across games as originally hyped...apparently Tony Hawk's American Sk8land maintains a completely separate buddy list from Mario Kart DS (see the video here, at around 4:10). PSP also doesn't have this, but in its defense neither Sony nor PSP enthusiasts ever claimed it did or was in the process of being implemented.
- No in-game voice chat. Sure, PSP users have to buy a $20 microphone in order to gain that ability, but what's more deplorable--paying $20 for a mic to chat online, or having a built-in mic (as DS fans like to boast about) yet not being able to utilize it for chat at all?
- No chat of any kind (text, scrawling doodles, etc.) with people who are not on your buddy list.
- Much weaker range and selection of online games on DS compared to PSP.
I'll give Nintendo some credit, at least they're making some attempt (however feeble it is) to get some online games out there for this system, which is much more than they ever did for the GameCube. But they've got a long way before they even approach the (admittedly still weak) PSP online game experience, let alone get any serious consideration for being the "greatest" online play system in the history of video games.

Well it's pretty damn easy for me.
When Sony makes a game I actually care about playing on-line I'll consider buying it.
Sony can put plenty of games on-line. If none of them are interesting then what's the damn use. PSP has been on-line ready from the start yet I have yet to hear of a really good on-line PSP game until Socom. Which is 10 months from launch?
The DS network is finally ready and is launching with 2 huge games. That is enouigh for me.
Also A lot of your points were stupid. I really don't see how configuring all your games when you first play them is a huge deal, A friends list is for your friends. I'm also pretty sure Anyone can post their digital number on-line anyway. Nintendo never said anything about all the buddy list being together. That was plain simple hype.
The lack of voice chat is unexcusable. Yet I don't really care. Neither do I care about PSP's online line-up becuase Wipeout and Sony sports title are not my cup of tea.
Yeah, because we all know that Nintendo's online approach will never evolve, right?Originally Posted by Agent X
This is Nintendo's first online title, whereas Socom has had 3 prior releases to get things down pat.
Can SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT PSP IS LIKE?! IS IT NICE?
