It's comics like this that remind me just how badass mine really are. I think Achewood is the only online comic that is of any quality, even after all these years.

This post is funny to me.

Especially if I remember correctly how much of a butt hurt, thin skinned little child you were when only a few people out of TNL were bashing on your work.

Even if I don't personally enjoy an individuals work, I can appreciate the time and hard work they put into it, not to mention the guts it takes to put it under public scrutiny.

Maybe expecting people to be mature and civil, especially people that have been in similar situations is a bit too much to ask.

Add a "fucking" to the last panels and it's as good as PA imo.

The Halloween comic was more of a... like... card, you know? It wasn't supposed to really have a punchline so much as a funny situation with his reaction. I'll definitely have to redesign Grace and work on the writing in general.

I'll probably do one like it for every holiday. I have one in mind for Christmas too (we have to update Christmas Eve Day) involving Robobo replacing the reindeer with really large rockets and bossing around Santa who was unsure of the sleighs safety.

I'm not sure if I'll add swearing. I really want to, but Jonas convinced me that the comic would be able to appeal to more people if we just used abbrasive language instead of curses. (Like jack for shit, and heck or hell for fuck)

I also received a fan request already for a Mac friendly version of the group shot wallpaper. Weird. Did any of you ask for this or is this an actual fan request already?

I think one of the ideas with that comic was too use Robobo as a way to not pull away from the conversation of Jimmy and Grace but to use him as a way to show that the conversation Jimmy and Grace were having is pointless. I mean nobody will win that conversation. A lot of people bash wrestling for being fake yet don't realize that movies are the same thing.

So Robobo was more like a scapegoat to show the audience that at the end of the day - it doesn't really matter and getting all gloaty or angry over such a little thing is rather childish.

Anyways, I realize you probably don't believe that I would put that much thought into a comic - but that's how I see that comic!

I'm glad you like them - they take a lot of effort on the art side. I see Andrew down there for hours making these things. I'm the web guy and while I make a lot of programming changes (like making the rollover comic available in the archive or programming the 'other characters' sections), it's still a lot of work to sit in front of a monitor and almost paint each comic. I think the art really is awesome. I like our writing too because we are trying to write in a way with stuff we like - like Python, King of Queens, a bit of Seinfeld, Simpsons etc but the art is the real showcase I would say.

Anyways, I realize you probably don't believe that I would put that much thought into a comic - but that's how I see that comic!

Seeing as how that wasn't a lot of thought, I would hope you'd put in at least that much.

But the point was, similar to what I said before, it didn't flow. Jimmy gave no indication that he was talking about movies or whatever, he just sounded like he suddenly had diarrhea of the mouth. It came off as though he was talking about something going on on-stage (I knew that he wasn't, but the writing gave absolutely no clue of that).

It's the same thing as with my questions about who Grace is: you're giving no indication as to what the hell is going on and what the relationships are. Just adding a couple words here and there can give a frame of reference that could help out tons. You could've shortened what Jimmy had already said in that paragraph and added a line at the beginning like, "You mean like on 24 last night where..."

I like our writing too because we are trying to write in a way with stuff we like - like Python, King of Queens, a bit of Seinfeld, Simpsons etc but the art is the real showcase I would say.

I really wish you'd shut up about those references because:
1.) It makes you sound like you're just trying to be a copycat;
2.) You're nowhere even close to being within a long shot of the quality of any of those products.

Yea I think it is, especially here. Just being honest is all. It can be hard to accept criticism, but personally I would rather people say what they really think than to sugercoat it, even if it hurts.
