Riots

Who is the best rioters? If asked, without thinking twice I would choose the French over the Americans - mostly due to historical reasons. However upon inspecting the actual 'kills' it would appear that the yanks have a good lead.

I blame the negative European attitude toward firearms, if not for that; we could have easily reached the high American riot standards. Also the french police force only apply non-lethal weapons such as rubber-bullets and tear-gas against the street rabble.

L.A.:
Kills: 50-60
Arsons: 3,600
Highlights: Rodney King & Reginald Denny beatings caught on cam.

Paris (16 nights tally):
Kills: 2
Arsons: 7916 cars
Highlights: Deliberate torching of a disabled woman.

Yeh, but still the riots here in Paris are the dumbest riots there have been. If they're complaining about unemployment, and they want to do something about it, why are they rioting? Which employer in a right state of mind would hire someone who burns out cars and riots, it makes no sense why they chose this plan of action.
The stupidest thing about it all is that they're rioting in their own neighbourhoods in the slums, where the poor people are, so they're actually burning out their own cars and buildings (which will in turn increase insurance rates in those areas), which is just screwing themselves over.

I cannot see any benefit whatsoever on these peoples behalfs for what they are doing. They ought to send the riot squad/army in as soon as possible to sort those idiots out.

Personally I don't think it's about unemployment, as you said; if that was the case - their energy would be better utilized on job applications, but rioters never struck me as the smartest people... They are probably just young, bored and lacking respect of western culture.

As far as the burning of cars; most frenchmen don't subscribe to the optional fire-insurance. If it spreads to Northern Europe I'll defend my car with my life.

I doubt it will. People have a way better culture up there from what I hear. It's just the French being stupid, they'll learn their lesson soon enough when they're left without a car due to lack of insurance.

But the French police are way more ruthless, as they think they're way superior:
When I first moved here, I went to visit the Eiffel Tower, and while I was there, there was this pickpocket.
He got seen, and 5 policemen laid into him, kicking him and beating him with batons while he was down on the floor. It was quite funny, serves him right.
Point being that once they do take action against these riots, the rioters will get their asses kicked, maybe moreso than in America.

Well they torched 5 cars in Berlin last night, in a copy-cat act. Also in Belgium, and some other nation. I'm nervous as I don't have an insurance against that sorta thing. Perhaps I should consider organizing some sorta neighbourhood car-watch...

Have you got a garage, or a friend with a garage with some room in?
Also I thought you lived on a campus, and shit won't happen there.

It also depends what sort of area you live in. I live in the west suburbs, which is the good suburbs to live in, and nothing has happened here, only in the poorer suburbs where all the factories and warehouses are.

Good luck with the defending though.
