I am leaning towards the import version because of the artwork..

Are you going to display your case? Are you going to frame it? Are you going to frame it then hang it on your wall with a little light on it? No?? Then how gay do you have to be to waste your time buying the Japanese version just for the box art?!
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"

  2. Got the game yesterday and I love it so far. Have beaten 4 of the robots and regained 'em as allies. My favorite redone stage so far is Guts Man which has a killer background, all kinds of dirt conveyor belts, giant cranes moving earth, ect. More importantly, the new style Guts Man layout is every bit as tough as the original, those little dropping metal platforms are as vicious as ever. Play control is solid so far though it does feel a little slippery at times when stopping.

Have collected about 4 of the construction packs, made my own custom Gutsman stage last night, the editor is a total blast (I plan on making some SMB and Metroid maps), the menus are very simple and intuitive to navigate. It's really touchy about where you place the boss though.

BTW, anybody been able to connect to MM Web? I tried connecting just now and after accepting the user agreement instead of giving the up/download options, it just takes me back to the main construction menu. hrm

    edit:

Ah, you have to highlight the confirm in gray instead of orange, weird. Anyways I am connected now and have uploaded my wonky custom Gutsman stage, here is the ID if you want to try it (bear in mind it was first time and you have to climb a looooong ladder at the end to get to the boss): 53702183-001 edit: It's also currently listed on the main U.S. page as "Custom Guts."

edit: To see the "weekly downloads," select "special from the MM Web menu. As of today, you can download Roll as a playable character, new "ultimate challenge stages" and also 8-bit maps (for use in construction as backgrounds to clarify)

edit: OK, played as Roll for the first time, so far she seems to be balanced nicely into the gameplay and controls well. Her broom packs a lot of punch. Since it swings from above, it's ace for taking out the separating propellor bots (not to mention ground spike enemies) Took some more practice but using her to beat Iceman worked quite well. Roll's voice dialogue is really cute 'n funny too. When Iceman jabbers and has his "soldier flashbacks" Roll just smiles and says "Oh Iceman, you're such a good kid. Let's go home now O-K?" haha

Still need to try using some of the actual Robot Masters to beat the bosses. Also, each of the new challenge stages you unlock are tailored to that specific boss. ie: Gutsman challenge requires picking up blocks to get to completely the goal in time, ect. Good stuff.

edit: Make sure to download "GB style Cutman." Great stage that recreates the old B&W Gameboy Cutman level.

Anyways, this game is officially taking Mario Kart away from all my portable wifi time for the forseeable future.

  3. Weekly downloads? Does that mean they're only available for a week, or is it something that will be available later? Because if i'm not able to download Roll, heads are going to... spin. On the floor.

No, I am sure they stay there for as long as the service itself is available. Anyways, even if it came to that I can always send you my save file.

  5. Oh yeaaaah... I forgot you can do things like that.
    Donk

  6. i played my friends copy today on his psp and wow this game is great. i was thinking i'd be bored 'cause i played mm1 so many times but it was still fresh and challenging. i was able to unlock most of the bosses. i love elecman's voice. bomb man's attitude was pretty cool, too. i also love how when you use another boss megaman turns into a jerk witha purple scarf and evil stare. it's awesome. i'd love to have this game but there's nothing else i want on the psp....'cept maverick hunter x.

  7. haven't read everything on the thread, but has any one already tried remaking any of the levels of Megaman 2-6 with the level editor yet?

  8. I made a Metroid style "Zebes" level. It has a couple of blocky Chozo "statues" and doors that can only be opened with Ice Man or Fireman's weapon, ect. lots of ladders and a couple of alternate routes to get to the boss. I may upload it later today after I work on it a bit more.

BTW, does anyone know how to unlock Rock (with his "soccer kick")?

  9. Mine is out for delivery, I'll be playing it when I get home from work.

  10. OK, I finished my MM "Metroid" stage. It is my own layout but mimics the basics of Metroid maps as I mentioned before. It is Fireman stage so has kind of a cool Norfair "vibe" to it. Look for faces with teeth in the walls, chozo holding energy, ect. You can play as Megaman with either fire or ice weapon (both needed to break certain blocks in order to prgress) The ID is: 53702183-002
