I just got the call -- it's out today, a week early (5/30).
I'm going to pick it up after work. Impressions will follow.
Anyone else picking this up today?

I was very impressed with this game...though there's a aspect of it that seemed ripped from Saving Private Ryan. I've become a fan of the Medal of Honor series (upset now that I missed the first one, got into it after Underground hit the scene). I am gunning for a copy of this game as well, but will post screens and a brief impressions of what I thought for the hell of it. ^o^
If I were getting it, I'd be getting the XB version. But that's 'if'. I don't think I'll be supporting any EA games.
The demo was rather buggy and overall sub-par for fps, but I'm pretty sure it all was fixed for the final release. Anyone know if this game has mouse/keyboard support? If not, I'm not going to enjoy it as much as I could have.
It's a mirror image!
Oh my... I agree with EThugg. *dies*Originally posted by EThugg

I picked this game up this afternoon. I don't normally like EA games, but I love FPS games, so I bought it.
Let's see...
GRAPHICS- Awesome. The character models are well done, and the environments are very realistic. You can actually see the looks of fear on the G.I.'s faces when they assault the beach and hide from enemy fire. Very nice. The whole game has that "you're in the middle of war" ambiance about. I really found myself getting lost in the first level alone.
SOUND- Again, awesome. The gunfire, soldiers screaming (I guess Halo set a new standard for NPC chit-chat), the planes strafing (they strafe you as well), explosions...everything is top-notch. The score is also very good, ranging from soft to fiery inspirational "give 'em hell" type tunes. Me like!
GAMEPLAY- This was the biggest issue I had with the demo. Thankfully, the game provides a number of controller configurations, including a custom one! I quickly set mine to "Halo" config.
I'm very impressed with the whole product. I'd say more but there are some Nazis whose asses are just itching to be kicked.
BTW: Any word on the Xbox MOH? I believe it was going to be Allied Assault, no?
It's Fronline now.Originally posted by Melf

As soon as I have the cash I'll be getting Frontline. The demo was excellent.
As for why Allied Assault isn't coming to Xbox, I think that's pretty stupid. Why don't they just release AA single-player only then?
Just spent a little time with Frontline after spending a few hours hauling my crap into my new apartment.
So far it's pretty great. FPSs still aren't my cup of tea, but MOH:Frontline has great atmosphere, music, and graphics, and that goes a long way with me. I'm a huge WWII buff, and the amount of detail is truly frightening. This has always been a hallmark of MOH, but Frontline really takes it to the next level. The opening Normandy level is scary as hell, just as it should be -- bullets flying everywhere, very little cover, total chaos. It'll take you a few tries to get used to things, figure out your objectives, etc., but once you do the game really pulls you in.
One welcome change in this MOH is the difficulty. As much as I liked the original MOH, it was far too easy and short. Frontline feels a lot more difficult, especially the submarine level, which is much more difficult than its PSone counterpart. Oh, and the environment interaction in the sub is fantastic -- you can shoot food, instrument panels, piping (which releases hot steam that can do damage to you), and more. However, the difficulty is still quite manageable: hints are available with a press of the Select button, and health packs are plentiful at least in the first few levels.
Control is quite good, especially with inverted aiming. I can't compare it to mouse and keyboard control, as I think playing a game with a mouse and keyboard is about as fun as playing a harpsichord with your nose, but I think it suits the game just fine. (I'm not positive but I don't think the game supports USB mouse and keyboard).
Those are my impressions so far. More to come.
